Hey do you still want 'a former stepbrother turned crush'~? If so I was just wondering how that sort of relationship would play out.

Yeah I do! It kind of depends on your character’s personality and the chemistry between our characters, but from Jules’s standpoint I would say that he would be really hesitant to say anything about how he feels because he thinks the relationship between him and his stepbrother was strictly platonic on the other guy’s part and he wouldn’t want to violate that and it would be something he struggles with a lot, especially if he ends up spending more time with him.

This plotline was inspired by the relationship between Cher and Josh from the movie Clueless (1995) lol.

Lia bounced on the balls of her feet as she ran a brush through her loose scarlet curls as she waited for a text from Julius. It had been weeks since she hadn’t spent a Friday night studying, it felt nice to finally be free. Not that she’d be free for long, she had already signed up for her summer internship and two volunteer programs, but it felt nice to at least have one night with nothing to do but hang out and eat sushi. She smiled as she heard her phone chime, grabbing her jean jacket to throw over her blue skater dress and shouting a quick goodbye to her roommate. “Hey,” she said with a bright smile once she made it to his car.

Julius looked up when he heard Lia enter his car, leaning over the center console immediately to give her a hug—or, something as close to a hug he could give her from the driver’s seat, at least. “Hey! How was your last final?” he asked. He knew Lia was an extremely hard worker, so the last couple of weeks must have been killer for her. It was for all college students during finals week, but Lia was one of the smartest, hardest working people that Julius knew, so she must’ve felt it twice as bad as everyone else. “So this new sushi place, I haven’t tried it yet or anything, but I heard it’s awesome, plus they play really good music and there’s mochi,” he blabbed.

Gabe narrowed his eyes playfully. “You’re a fucking bully, you know that?” He shot Julius a sad look before turning his attention back to the road. “I’ve been good, man. I’ve been fine.” A nervous chuckles escaped his chest as he glanced over at the passenger seat. “So,” he started, hesitating slightly. “Is this the kind of shit week you need to talk to someone about or is this shopping trip simply for distraction purposes only?”

“No I’m not, I’m the cute one and you’re the bully,” he pointed out jokingly. “Are you sure? Ya sound a little off. How’re your classes? Are you almost done with finals?” Julius could hear the hesitation in Gabe’s voice and he understood completely. It was never easy talking about feelings. In fact, it made him feel icky just thinking about it. It usually took a whole lot of alcohol and something to set him off to talk freely about anything—except for when he would have stay at home days with Parker, but he was now afraid those were a thing of the past. Julius sighed before looking back at Gabe in the driver’s seat. “Parker and Kennedy have been sleeping together. She’s pregnant.”

Excited to go to the beach for the first time, Olivia went back to her room to change into something more appropriate. She was happy she met someone that would take her since she barely knew how to get around. When she got to the dorms, she noticed her roommate was not there, so she quickly changed into her favorite bathing suit and grabbed her things. She looked at herself in the mirror and figured she didn’t need anything else. 

She hurried up downstairs to their meeting place not wanting to be late, but noticed she got there first. She then took her phone and started to text some of her friends when she felt someone tap her shoulder. She looked up and saw that Julius was there. “Hi” she said while smiling. She grabbed her stuff and waited for him to lead them.“Ready when you are.”

“Great,” he said, moving all his stuff from one hand to the other before making his way down the sidewalk with Olivia by his side. “The best thing about this school is that it’s only a block or two away from the coast, so we’re always close to the beach,” he said. “Plus that means it’s pretty much always cool and not too hot, not even in the summer with all the SoCal heat.” He explained as he walked. “The people are pretty cool too. At least, I think so.” Julius shrugged.

“So, you’re new here, right? What brings you to Santa Barbara?” he asked. He was always curious to know about why the students at Valentina chose to be there. But then again, he was one of the nosiest people around, so he was always curious about everything. “And how are you liking it so far? Not so bad, right?” Being a member of Circle K meant that he was pretty in tune with what was going on at the school, who was who, especially when it came to Freshmen, since they were assigned “Littles” at the beginning of the Sophomore school year. That kind of made him care a lot more about how all of the new students were being treated.
