@ohklepto-blog
hey everyone! I’ve been super busy this past year and so haven’t been active on here much, I live in a pretty rural town too so I don’t really get the chance to lift much anyway, but I have to go christmas shopping soon (and i’m a broke bitch) so expect to see some hauls soon!Â
most of the blogs I use to follow are now inactive, so if you’re an active lifting blog could you please reblog/like this so I can make sure I’m following some active peeps! bonus points if you’re from australia!Â
on-floor concealing methods
first and foremost, always conceal in a blindspot! if there aren’t any natural ones, duck down to create one or, if you’re with a lifting buddy, have them stand between you and the camera.
♥ clothing rack
pick up an item and walk over to a clothing rack. go to a clothing rack and, with the same hand as the item, pretend to look through the clothes. as your hand is deep in the rack, either sleeve the item or drop it into your purse. this is a great, natural way to create a blindspot.Â
♥ double and sleeve
this is the most basic sleight-of-hand and is something every lifter needs to have in their tool belt. this works for long and small items, like lipgloss or mascara. grab two of the same item, hold them as if they’re one, and slide one into your sleeve. you can do this while swinging your arm to propel the item into your sleeve, or just put it subtly in with your fingers.Â
♥ drop
this works for bigger items. wedge several items between your elbow and ribs. “accidentally” drop one of them from your elbow into your bag as if you had too many items and one of them just fell into your bag accidentally.Â
♥ lightning conceal
this one is literally just putting something into your purse as quickly as possible. ONLY do this in a blindspot as it’s very obvious the intent is to steal the item.Â
♥ starbucks cup
get an opaque coffee cup, cut an X into the bottom, and shove little items (concealer, lip gloss, mascara etc) into it. if you do it properly they shouldn’t fall you. you can also pad the cup.Â
♥ food bag
get a bag of food from the mall food court. eat some and leave some food in there. drop items into your bag. if you get sussed, you can eat food out of the bag. an alternative of this is to put a hole in the side of the bag and put items through the hole rather than just through the top of the bag.Â
♥ armpit
tuck something under your armpit and either walk out with it there or walk to a blindspot and lightning conceal.Â
♥ long skirt
wear tight spandex and, when squatting in front of a low shelf at sephora or ulta, push your skirt up slightly and slide a small item into it. pallettes may fit in the waistband. make sure you practice this at home to make sure they’re tight enough and nothing will fall out.
♥ phone
hold something small between your hand and your phone and then put your phone and item back into your purse like you’re only holding your phone.Â
WHAT THE SHIT GIRL THIS IS GOALS
NOOOOOooooo0000ooooOoo0ooo WTF!!!!!!
Wow, wow, wow
FUCKKK
Dude
tips for big w? i've heard they're harder than Kmart, with plain clothed lp,, what techniques would you recommend?
Big w is a bitch, they have cameras like every two metres, the roof is pretty much covered in them. I assume some have to be fake because there’s honestly no need to have that amount of cameras, but you’d never be able to tell which one is real and which ones aren’t so it’s best to just assume that they’re all real cameras being watched. That being said, I’ve lifted from there without any problems heaps of times! locate a blindspot (there’s very few, but there are some!) and conceal there. I didn’t even know they have plain clothed LP, just make it look like you’re actually shopping! grab a basket and put the things you want in there along with some decoy items, make sure to look at tags and don’t take too long. Go in, browse around and grab what you want, conceal and get out. I’ve been to two different big w’s in the last month and neither really cared about the amount you take into the fitting room. On both occasions they didn’t even look at my clothing let alone count them, and I had a basked with me filled with stuff that they just let me take with me. Then whilst in there I just concealed all my stuff, maybe scope the changing rooms out first and see if they’re counting items or just letting people go straight through. Also the cup method works well for small makeup items.
🌻 small haul w/ carrot & bambi 🌻 total: 86$
cashorcard:
Okay, class is in session.
The top two photos show 1. RFID tags, 2. Soft Tag The bottom two photos show source tagging.
Remove all of these tags, and look thoroughly for them! These will definitely set off security towers!
A normal barcode is not charged or used for theft prevention, it’s used to keep track of stock being bought and what needs to be ordered. YOU CANNOT SET OFF TOWERS WITH A BARCODE.
RFID tags are a fucking pain in the arse to peel off because they are super sticky and peel off in parts. You’ll know how much of a bitch they are whenever you encounter them. Soft tags are easy, and you can stick them onto something else and then leave.
You should not assume just because an item of clothing has a security tag that requires a hook or magnet to take off that is doesn’t ALSO have these tags on it! The local beach wear clothes shop near me has all kinds of soft tags throughout their clothes and super tags!
What kind of tagging have you guys found on clothes/electronics/make up?
here’s my I don’t even know why I lifted these things mini haul:
chakra bracelet: $4.95 2 pack of scrunchies: $2.95 watermelon compact mirror: $6.95
total: $14.85
Ice Cream Haul!! This is why I need to lift clothes. Cuz I need bigger clothes. Cuz of the ice cream hauls! Vicious cycle yo!!
Any tips on how to lift nars concealer in australia?
I’m not really familiar with the stores that keep it. I think I bought mine from Sephora? or Mecca? I’ve never lifted from either so not sure how helpful my advice with be. I think with mecca most of the products are locked in the drawers underneath? and maybe sephora is the same too? But if not though and you can access it your best options here would be either using the cup method or sliding it up a long sleeve. Make sure you do this in a blindspot, or have your back to cameras! Mecca is annoying and have mirrors on the roof so also be mindful about that! It’s probably a good idea to grab two concealer sticks, make it look like you only grabbed one, slide it into the cup or up your sleeve and then place the other one back on the shelf/drawer.
do you know if a pair of eyebrow scissors would make towers go off? i’ve heard of people using scissors to help lift but im kinda nervous to bring them just in case they set the towers off
nah I doubt they would, I have actual scissors in mine (I use to carry them as a weapon when I’d walk to work at night) and I never take them out of my bag and I’ve never had a problem with towers.
So here are my belated haul photos! I went to the mall last Friday (so a week ago! I’m really lazy when it comes to taking photos and uploading them, I know) I only hit up a few stores, makeup is from Big W, planner and pens are from Typo, M&H is from Dymocks, jewellery is from Lovisa, bra is from Big W and the panties are all from Cotton On. I used the cup method for the makeup, concealed the palettes on my body in the change room, pens I just slid into my bag, the planner I honest to god just picked up and walked out because they don’t have any cameras, M&H I hid underneath my shirt, the jewellery I just slipped into shopping bags as I was browsing, the bra and panties were all just slipped into my shopping bags as I was walking around. ~ naked eyeshadow palette: $17.95 ~ australis liquid highlighter : $15.95 ~ australis setting powder: $13.95 ~ showgirl volumising mascara: $14.95 ~ colour correcting kit: $13.95 ~ cosmic lights highlighting palette: $17.95 ~ blending sponge: $3.00Â
~ 2018 planner: $49.95 ~ milk and honey: $24.95 ~ rose gold diamond pen: $9.99 ~ black and pink pen: $7.99
~ watch + spare band: $30.00 ~ star and moon earrings: $15.99 ~ oval inside circle earrings: $10.99 ~ circle inside circle earrings: $12.99 ~ long drop earrings: $10.99 ~ choker set: $13.99 ~ circular spike earrings: $8.99 ~ moon and star ring: $10.99 ~ stone ring: $12.99 ~ drop earrings with cubes: $13.99 ~ heart bracelet: $10.99 ~ necklace with circle: $9.99
~ pink bra: $15 ~ 7 panties: $35 (one not pictured) (they had a sale of 7 for $35 so I’ll just list them as being $35 instead of their $11.95 usual price)
Total: $403.47
this is such a glamorous haul (also sorry about the lighting? what’s up with that ?this photo looks weird I know) so I’ve been grabbing one of these each time I hit up Coles (grocery store) because I’m in the process of redecorating my bedroom and hanging prints/canvases up – I could just use nails because the house is owned, but I’ve spent the last 4 years renting and using these things so I think it’s just second nature now for me to use them. But they’re ridiculously overpriced! Like I could probably get them online cheaper, but eh, I walk past them when I get my weekly groceries anyway and so I always just stuff one down my pants.
2 x poster strips: $12 (2 x $6) 2 x multi pack strips: $38 (2 x $19)
total: $50.00
GUYS!!!!!
Can we all just think for a moment about how funny it would be to name our hauls like they name hurricanes and shit. Like (“HAUL HENRY” was expected to be a level 2 quick in and out but after hitting the first 5 stores began to pick up speed and cause massive property lose" idk but I find this funny
Quick VS 👙 and Targ🎯 grab. Gotta love semi-annual sale time, there’s always at least two untagged bras in my size, a blessing since I don’t use a hook. Also, how fucking cute is all the ❤️-day stuff in the stores?? $139
my biggest issue with the lifting community is how some can’t seem to make up their minds on how they feel about haul sizes. everybody’s talking about not grabbing ten glowkits or naked palettes at once, but when a new haul with more than three of the same item pops up, everybody idolizes it and acts like it’s not a huge issue. then you always hear that small hauls still count, but these newbie lifters either get shit on or ignored because their hauls aren’t big enough. this isn’t me throwing shade to anybody bc i’ve been guilty of it in the past, but it’s the one thing i’ve noticed and it makes me really sad.
