@ohlittlelovely
mallory you shady bitch
i wanna see jeanette turner cut her hair. also god i hate her dad. “being on your side cost me my job, my reputation, my family as i once knew it. it’ll cost me this house too.” LIKE…sIR..that’s your DAUGHTER
So I never understood how Jeanette stole Kate's life. Just by dating her boyfriend and being friends with Kate's friends? That felt incredibly overdramatic to me. I kinda just assumed the friends came as a package deal when dating Jamie. They were in his friend group. Of course Jeanette would become friends with his friends. And even if the girls would have ordinarily distanced themselves from Jamie post-breakup this wasn't a breakup. They probably all stayed close because Kate went missing.
So this brings me to my theory, if you want to call it that. Based on Kate's mom telling her she always needed a villain. Martin probably used this to his advantage. He was the one feeding Kate all this information. He had to have been the one framing it as Jeanette "stealing her life" that way Kate could have that villain and he could be whatever is was he wanted to be to her. Rather than her seeing that he was one that actually stealing her life.
Kate was seriously brain washed by Harris, not only in the way he made her feel like no one else cared about her but him, but her reaction to the news about that girl from widow falls, he obviously told her a complete skewed version the story and she believed it and it makes me wonder what other lies he’s told her.
also fuck her mum because instead of being concerned for her daughter defending her kidnapper she saw it as a way to incentify her to go on that talk show she wanted her to go on
Jeanette Turner
I know a lot of people hate Jeanette, which is kind of understandable. We’ve seen a lot of her bad traits with very few redeemable qualities at this point, but let’s look at who she is as a character. In 1993 she had really bad self-esteem issues. She started doing risky things and getting attention for it, and she liked that attention. She felt cool. Her mom was basically constantly reminding her that she was a “loser” by telling her to get new friends, and encouraging her to “blossom.” Then the one person she wanted to be went missing, and things started falling into place. 1994. She finally was able to become the person she always wanted to be, the person her mom always wanted her to be. But the person she became finally came home, and Jeanette was scared. She was scared because Kate was saying all these things about Jeanette, and now everybody that Jeanette worked so hard to get to like her started hating her. Her family started falling apart. Her parents were always fighting, and her brother left for college. None of her friends wanted to talk to her anymore, and neither did her boyfriend. The world started to hate her. 1995. She was really f*cking depressed. She couldn’t even leave the house. She hadn’t spoken to her mother in god knows how long. Her dad hated her. Her house and car were constantly trashed by people. Jeanette had absolutely nothing. The last few episodes we’ve seen her life become just a little better, but it’ll never be the same for her again. The last three years she had been jealous, manipulative, attention-seeking, and deceitful. That finally caught up to her. But we also see her constantly trying to please people and make them happy. We had seen her care about her family. She made her parents breakfast for their anniversary almost every year. We saw how much she loved and looked up to her brother. We saw her take the fall for Vince at the mall when he stole a CD, and accept him and be happy for him immediately when she saw him and Ben had a thing going on. And we saw her continually trying not to give up when her life was in literal shambles. She’s hiding something, but so is Kate. Jeanette is just an extremely flawed person, but she’s not evil. She’s a kid. And she fell victim to grooming too.
Just watched the pilot for Cruel Summer! It’s very good so far, I can see why people talk about it! I’d recommend it if you like mystery dramas, but please be aware of the trigger warnings before you watch.
Edit: I’m on episode 3, but I might have to rewatch 1 and 2 again. I’m gonna have to make a timeline map of clues
The fact that Mallory said this has been at the back of my brain ever since this first episode lol
the fact that martin immediately destroyed the tape when kate was just LOOKING at him through a window at him for a few seconds and nothing incriminating was happening clearly shows to me that he knew he planned to kidnap her and didn’t want evidence
“you kind of made it open season when you gave her a black eye” TELL HIM VINCENT
While we can acknowledge that Mallory is a good friend to Kate, I think we should also acknowledge the fact that she is a HORRIBLE HORRIBLE SHITTY friend to Jeanette. She’s such a bitch to Jeanette all the time and shuts down anything Jeanette is interested in or wants to talk about that she doesn’t agree with.
Cruel Summer is so 90′s it holds onto the trope if you have curly hair and glasses then you’re automatically unattractive. *laughs in having curly hair and glasses*
Jeanette: I didn’t say anything about Vincent
STAR WARS SEQUEL APPRECIATION WEEK 2020
Day 2 / Favorite Character : KYLO REN/BEN SOLO
Forgive me. I feel it again. The pull to the light.
this is genuinely the funniest moment in all of Star Wars not out of comedy but nothing will make me scream laugh like this
I still can’t believe they had the line “I’ve been every voice inside your head.”
And like. No reactions. No anger. No ramifications. Nothing.
