Hellooooooooooo
just cried in a mcdonald’s bathroom while listening to “just like heaven” by the cure it be like that sometimes
Eighties Goth Make Up Tutorial My make up routine as a 1980s goth, in the 1980s.
FACE
Primer does not exist.
Squiggle RIMMEL’S HIDE THE BLEMISH all over face. Blend in with fingers.
Dot LEICHNER’S CLOWN WHITE (bought from fancy dress shop) on face. Blend with the Hide the Blemish with fingers.
Powder face with JOHNSON’S BABY POWDER
.
EYES
Primer does not exist. Neither do eyebrow pomades and gels.
Draw on eyebrows with RIMMEL’S EYE LINER PENCIL.
Using a white/grey eyeshadow trio (any found at Woolworth’s), using a sponge applicator, apply the white all over eye area.
Using black, apply with the sponge applicator all over lid, then with grey apply above the black. Attempt to blend together with the black using the sponge applicator.
If you’re fortunate to find RIMMEL’S LIQUID EYE LINER, line top lid. Don’t bother to do wings. Go freeform.
Using RIMMEL’S PENCIL EYE LINER, generously line under eye. Smudge if you like, or alternatively do a Cleopatra.
Finish off with any black mascara.
Find some false lashes at the fancy dress shop (optional) and stick them on with the glue which isn’t great at actually sticking.
BLUSHER
Contouring wasn’t a thing.
Use grey eyeshadow from the trio bought at Woolies and apply under cheekbone. Blend it a bit with frantic hand motions or a brush if you own any.
LIPS
Any shade of red or purple. MOODY MAUVE by AVON is a favourite in my make up bag.
Apply LIPCOTE so your lipstick doesn’t come off as quickly when drinking your Snakebites/Diamond White.
HAIR
Crimp the fuck out of your hair which has been dyed with POLYTINT RAVEN BLACK.
Backcomb the fuck out of it.
Arrange as desired (the more height the better)
Spray the fuck out of it with INSETTE or BOOTS hairspray
For fragrance, dab on some BODY SHOP PATCHOULI OIL.
You look amazing. You dance, drink, socialise, as your make up melts. We didn’t care.
Simpler and inexpensive times.
I miss the 1980s.

*opens second fortune cookie* “…and you may find yourself, in another part of the world!”
*opens another fortune cookie* “and you may find yourself behind the wheel of a large automobile”

“and you may find yourself in a beautiful house, with a beautiful wife. and you may ask yourself, ‘well… how did i get here?’”
*falls backwards out of chair*
I don’t trust people who don’t like 80s pop music like what are you? straight? grow up
“money can’t buy happiness” is such a baby boomer concept like…. I don’t want excessive wealth to buy a golf plated toilet seat Karen, I just wish I wasn’t crying because I can’t afford both spaghetti and rent after working 40 hours a week
I still remember his voice too
