first it was vernon. the boy was randomly filming the things around him when he saw her. she didn’t look like another camper, and he didn’t know anyone who would go into the woods wearing a dress. she was quietly looking at a small tree, didn’t seem to be aware of vernon, before walking away, but the little action left him enchanted. it wasn’t until he was back in his tent that he realized his camera was still rolling. he decided to keep it to himself. second was mingyu. he couldn’t forget those eyes, wide and shocked, but in those fleeting seconds of locking eyes with her through the camera, he was captivated. mingyu lowered his camera to find her walking away in a hurry, into the woods and out of his sight. he told wonwoo about it, but the older just assumed he didn’t have enough lunch. seeing was believing. wonwoo could now attest to that when he finally understood what mingyu meant, his eyes locked on the figure of a girl standing between tall shrubs. she had her eyes closed and she looked so serene, like she was listening to the bushes as the leaves swayed slightly in the breeze, and wonwoo didn’t have the heart to approach and possibly alarm her. joshua was mildly joking when he said he wished a bed of red and white roses would grow in the woods, because he knew woods didn’t have a bed of romantic roses, so he was suprised when he came back to the campsite to find a single white rose on the bench right outside of his tent. he had heard stories from mingyu, wonwoo, and vernon, and he couldn’t help but wonder what the woods held. junhui shushed the boys and pointed towards a spot, signalling soonyoung to start rolling. seungcheol stopped next to soonyoung and when the younger pointed the camera at him, he whispered, “did you catch that? is she, like, snow white? is she a fairy? is she—” but couldn’t finish his last sentence when his eyes fell on a girl, not far from where they were standing but hidden behind forest plants. she didn’t seem to notice the group of boys so seungcheol, as quietly as possible, walked closer to get a better look, and he was sure she could be all those things he mentioned before. seungcheol paid no heed to some of the boys who had gathered behind him as he watched her through the leaves. she had a glow to her that made him froze, not able to take his eyes off of her. she was alluring; the way her fingers moved in the air like she was playing an invisible piano, how her doe eyes fluttered open, her gaze drifting from one tree to another, and seungcheol had never wanted someone to look at him so bad. he had to make sure, because he was starting to think that she had the most beautiful eyes. he wished she would look at him. and she did.
