Mastering Self-Acceptance!

Mastering Self-Acceptance! Let's face it--sometimes we can be our own worst enemy in the form of negative self-talk. If you're stuck in a vicious cycle of negative self-talk, it may be difficult to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Fortunately, where there's a will there's a way. All you need to do to transform your life and self-image is change the way you think. Sure this may sound impossible and could feel that way in the beginning, but like any other change, it only becomes easier. Before you know it you'll be completely out of touch with your old ways with beautiful horizons in front of you!

Steps to Mastering Self-Acceptance:

1. Know that whatever has been done can be undone, and vice versa.

2. Admit your flaws, laugh at your quirks, and know that you will screw up.

3. Love and accept other beings.

4. Accept the dark side, too.

Dry Brushing! Beautiful skin is healthy skin, so whether you suffer from acne, keratosis pillars, dry, or oily skin--- dry brushing is for you! It works by sloughing off dead skin cells (that make your skin appear dull) and stimulates the lymphatic system which is responsible for carrying toxins. The process is highly effective in smoothing out cellulite, because cellulite is simply composed of trapped toxins! Dry brushing also gives you a fantastic energy boost and glowy skin. Awesome right? Make sure to buy an all natural vegetable brush. The process is pretty simple: Wake up and brush your entire body first thing, using long strokes always toward the heart. Take a shower alternating hot and cold water, pat dry, and apply moisturizer. Happy brushing!

Natural Skincare: Oil, Oil, Oil! As ladies in the beauty industry, our journeys have taken us near and far, to the unnatural and (finally) to the natural side of products in order to find what works best. We are here today with good (in hindsight obvious) news... Natural rules! Our favorite natural base for anything is oil. Our favorite finds right now are coconut, jojoba, vitamin e, tea tree, argan, and rosehip oil! These are wonderful as moisturizers for face, body, and scalp. Whether your skin/scalp is more on the oily, dry, or combination side, any of these natural oils will help balance it out. We are also loving peppermint and lavender oil as natural scents for aromatherapy and relaxation. Add any or all of these oils to a nice detox bath for some seriously silky and yummy smelling skin all week!

Recipe: PB&J For Grownups!

Recipe: PB&J For Grownups! We like to treat each other here at Ohm and bring something every now and then to share. So when one of our Ohmies brought in peanut butter and a jar of gourmet jam, we obligatorily ventured out onto Abbot Kinney in search of some bread. Quickly finding that we couldn't buy a loaf anywhere, we purchased some slices of rosemary bread! We made and divided the sandwiches up, then (semi-reluctantly) each took our first bite of rosemary PB&J... and... It was amazing!!! So in honor of our little in-salon culinary adventure, we found a similar recipe for some delicious grownup PB&J. Happy snacking!

In honor of the Chinese New Year (Yesterday, Feb 19), we ask you this question: How has your life changed in a year? Reflect on the strides have you made personally, professionally, spiritually. How have things changed? What adventures have you gone on? What has changed for the better? What have you checked off your bucket list? What have you learned? Ask yourself these questions and even take to paper and make a list of your accomplishments. Make the list fun... Include doodles, jokes, and memories from last year.
