It’s been several months I didn’t post anything nor reacted to any of your posts, you all cardiophile friends. The truth is I’ve been hospitalized because of “my” psychosis disorder and still struggling a bit even out of hospital. My experience of cardiophilia

I think it’s about time for me to explain a little how and why I love listening to heartbeats.

If I am honest, the human heart and particularly mine was already a big subject in my interior and emotional life in memories as far as I can recall. Maybe the way my mother considered herself the “miracle of a beating heart” played a role in me developing a particular view of this organ. I wondered many times if she was a cardiophile herself and am still wondering.

I sometimes have quite “strange” thoughts about my own heart, probably not so much illogically strange now that I think about it with more perspective. I suppose that it began with the realization that changes in my heartbeat reflect the core of my emotions. I don’t like when other people have occasions to notice my cardiac activity, I think of it as (possibly rude) intrusions into my intimacy. I’m so embarrassed whenever a doctor or a nurse is taking my pulse or listening through the stethoscope! When I was younger, it was going as far as I was deliberately avoiding having to pronounce or write anything heart-related. Even wearing a print on a shirt was a fear of mine, because I thought it would catch the eyes of strangers onto my chest! *laughing*

Once I had become a young adult living on my own with no one next room to disturb me, I frequently self-absorbed in the cheerful feeling of my heart pounding against the palm of my hand. Of course, I had already heard tons of these fake heartbeat sounds publicists and movie-makers use when wanting a dramatic effect, but I was wondering since I was a little child what the doctor really heard when putting the damn stethoscope on my chest. Fortunately enough, the crave to know pushed me to buy one myself on a web store. It was a poor quality tool but whenever I’d auscultate myself I would fall even deeper in love with my heartbeat.

Then, totally out of accident, I found the Youtube channel of another “heartbeat lover” while searching for themed songs. There are still people uploading records of their own heartbeat there and I opened an account to drop some respectful comments. Then I discovered www.heartbeatpleasure.net which was a good start in the cardiophile community but has become too sexual-bordered for me right now. And then I know I’m a cardiophile, and the best is that I’m far away from being the lonely one in the world!
