Let's give this favorites thing a try once more, shall we?
The Lip Bar lipsticks are natural, vegan lipsticks that are dedicated to delivering a bold lip color while still being good for your lips. They are made up of shea butter, avocado oil, coconut oil and vitamin E, which help keep the moisture in your lips even after hours of wear. I noticed that these lipsticks remained very comfortable throughout the day. The formula is creamy, but they do not transfer to my teeth or travel drastically outside of my lip line. The lipsticks are super bright and pigmented. Both of these colors leave a pink stain as the color begins to fade (5 hours+) or when they are wiped off. (Click Link for Swatches!)
June/July Empties + Mini Review
Hey y’all it’s Asa again with an empties post. Depending on the popularity of the post, Cj and I might be making more of these. Let us know what y’all think!
This time my empties are mostly skincare and lotions which are things I tend to buy more of. I rarely will buy eyeshadows and I have never hit pan on eyeshadows before.
The first lotion is actually full because it is the second bottle of the Neutrogena Rapid Clear Acne Defense Face Lotion. I used up all of the first bottle and then threw it out by accident. I really like this lotion and when I stopped using for a couple of days my face broke out again but that stopped three days after I started using the lotion again. Highly recommend this for those with acne. I got this from Ulta (they are currently having a BOGO 50% off sale on this!)
The next product is actually a Trader Joe’s face lotion! Who would have thought, right? I picked this up on a whim thinking it wouldn’t be that great of a product because it is only $2.99 at my local TJ’s but this is an impressive lotion. The Trader Joe’s enrich moisturizing face lotion is a fabulous every day lotion that has SPF 15. For me this is not enough protection for the sun on a summer day, but for the other seasons it is great. While it doesn’t provide moisture it is a great lotion for me because I have oily skin and I don’t need that extra moisturizing for most season (except winter). I will definitely do a repurchase of this! Click here to see if there is a TJ’s next to you!
The third product is actually a bit old compared to the other ones because I had stowed this away somewhere and I found it a month ago and figured this is great for the summer when I wear sandals a lot. This is the Julep The Best Pedi Creme Ever!. This stuff is no joke y’all. It really is the best foot cream tried. Overnight my feet were moisturized and flake free! I got this for free in my introductory Julep Maven box maybe three years ago.
The fourth is Victoria’s Secret Hydrating Body Lotion in the scent Mango Temptation. YOU GUYS. Y O U GUYS, this is my favorite lotion scent. I got this a couple of months ago in a VS haul when they had their 7 for $35 sale AND I had a $10 off $10 or more purchase coupon making my haul to 7 full size products for $25. Meaning I spent about $3.60 on each product and these retail for $14 each. I actually have the body butter of this scent because I just fell in love with the smell in the store. The scent is not all mango though which I think would have been too sweet and cloying; instead the mango scent is mixed in with the hibiscus scent making it not too floral and not too fruity. It is perfect for the spring and summer and I highly recommend these (when they’re on sale). I found that these were pretty moisturizing for my skin, but I don’t have dry skin so if you are a dry skin person these will not be hydrating enough for you.
The next product is a lip balm that is actually super old, from my high school years. (sorry, it’s gross, I know). I have no idea where I got this lip balm but I’ve been using this for like 4 months and I finally used it all up! It’s by On10 cosmetics which used to be sold in Sephora but now it isn’t. Amazon has some of their lip balms and cosmetics bags now. I’m guessing it is a discontinued brand. I didn’t like the lip balm a lot and it didn’t smell that great but it was a really pretty rosy color. This is in the shade blushing rose and has SPF 15. I love this tin and part of me really wants to keep this and reuse it.
I finally used up a body spray! This is another Victoria’s Secret product. It is their Eau De Toilette Spray in Secret Charm. It is actually discontinued and I got this in the same haul as the Mango Temptation lotion. I really loved this scent and I used it every single day, but with a quarter of the EDT left I started to hate it because it got too powdery for me. I still used it though and I’m glad I’m done with it.
The On-the-Spot Acne Treatment by Neutrogena is another product I had a love-hate relationship with. I used this spot treatment when I had a particularly nasty pimple but I don’t think it really worked that well. I still used it though, sometimes mixing it with my nighttime lotion. I think it worked more with my nighttime lotion than by itself.
The last product is The Body Shop’s Chamomile Gentle Eye Makeup Remover. I straight up hated every minute of using this eye makeup remover. I only purchased this because I heard really great reviews of it. I don’t know if this was a bad batch or what but this was a terrible product. It did not fully remove my eye makeup (which was usually eyeliner and mascara) and smelled awful. It burned my eyes. I don’t know why I kept using this, maybe to just get rid of it. I had to use another eye makeup remover after this to clean up the remainder of my mascara and eyeliner.
(Edited) In-depth Reviews of NYX Butter Gloss and Soft Matte Lip Cream
I did an Ulta haul a couple of months ago, picking up a few NYX products and here is my review. Warning: pic heavy.
First up are the Nyx Butter Glosses. I have e to say I’m not a gloss person. If I’m going to reach for a lip product, I go for lipsticks or lip stains. These glosses however, I’ve been reaching for more often, particularly the nude shades. If you’re a person of color looking for a nude gloss, I highly suggest Angel Food Cake, Praline, or Ginger Snap (which I will be swatching today).
Obviously since it is a non-sticky gloss the formula is not long-wearing at all and sometimes does travel outside my lip lines. I like to use a clear liner with most of the shades.
Red Velvet is described as a deep red. This is great over red lipstick.
Cherry Cheesecake is an orange. This is my least favorite out of the bunch as it settles into the fine lines of my lips and is almost a milky orange gloss as opposed to a jelly finish that I had expected.
Raspberry Tart is a medium-tone violet. I like to layer this over a purple lip liner as it does feather and it is semi-sheer on my lips.
Ginger Snap is described as a chocolate brown. I bought this thinking it would be a nude for me but it is a little too dark for that. I do like it as a subtle throwback to the 90s brown lip color trend.
Devil’s Food Cake is a plummy red. I absolutely adore this color and this is by far the most opaque out of all the shades of the BLG I own.
I get about 2-3 hours at most out of the BLG.
(From L-R: Butter Gloss - Red Velvet, Soft Matte Lip Cream - Morocco, Cherry Cheesecake, Soft Matte Lip Cream in Ibiza, BLG - Raspberry Tart,Ginger Snap, Devil’s Food Cake, SMLC - Copenhagen. The last one is the NYX Simply Vamp Lip Cream which I will write a separate post about. (No flash).

The color names.
Now on to the swatches:
Butter glosses from top to bottom: Red Velvet, Cherry Cheesecake, Raspberry Tart, Ginger Snap, Devil’s Food Cake. With flash.
The butter glosses have a doe foot applicator and I find that with most shades one application is enough to cover my lips.

The matte lip cream applicators are slightly thicker than the butter glosses and again for most shades one application is enough.
I love Nyx Matte Lip Creams. I think they are some of the best affordable matte lip products I tried, with a beautiful shade range. Everyone will find at least one lip color that will suit them.
Morocco is a bright orangey-red.
Ibiza is a deep rosy pink.
Copenhagen is deep purpley-red.
For me these lip creams last about 5 hours, less with eating. However, it also differs by each shade. I find that Morocco tends to flake off on me even without eating. Ibiza lasts a little bit more but fades away leaving that weird ring around my mouth. Copenhagen lasts the longest and when it does fade, it leaves a nice stain unlike the other colors.
Ulta haul! Reviews and swatches to follow.
I got a lot of stuff, but it was a cumulative haul <33
I got some acne lotion I read good reviews of, got a backup CeraVe as it was on sale, and a face cleanser from Yes To Cucumbers.
Face masks from Freeman Beauty and Formula 10.0.06, face spray/toner, makeup remover, the pink bag is full of free samples from Ulta.
Last pic are my NYX Butter Glosses, Soft Matte Lip Cream, and NYX Vampy Lip Cream

How do I use Resource?
I use it whenever I know I need that extra boost from electrolytes in Resource's Spring Water.
Before trying this product I was confused because water is water. But not all water tastes the same, and I would say that this is the best tasting water I've had. I'm from New York City and my family uses a water filter for our tap water.
I started drinking Resource when I wanted to go work out with my friends in my school's gym. As a busy college student who is juggling so many things in her plate, Reosurce water lets me do all this.
