Moving in with Ethan was definitely the best decision he had ever made. He always thought that living together with someone would be terrible. You couldn’t go to bed whenever you wanted or you couldn’t stay up late cause it means they would annoy for having the tv on. You couldn’t eat when you felt like eating, you had to clean up after that person. It were all things that he had been scared of. Scared that he couldn’t just be himself anymore. But living with Ethan was anything but that, sometimes he felt like they were one person. They was no fighting,no moaning or groaning. They worked together like a perfectly oiled clock.Â
Of course he hadn’t been able to enjoy his time with Ethan that much, after two months and a half the boy left for tour to promote his new album. a long tout filled with small and intimate shows. It was kinda like a tour to make up for lost time with his fans. Alex went to a few shows himself to see and support his boyfriend. They explored Las Vegas and Los Angeles together, which was really exciting for Alex since he had never really been outside Denver. The short times seeing his boyfriend and the endless phone calls and texts helped them pull through the hard time together. It hadn’t been easy but it also hadn’t been super hard for him. He trusted Ethan with his whole heart, he knew the man was away to follow his dream and make people happy with his music. Something he was extremely proud of.
With Ethan being away he spent most of his time watching his tv shows on netflix or reading the books he liked to order from Amazon every month. It wasn’t the most exciting life but this was just how he liked to spent his time. His sister and her boyfriend came all the way from Belgium to visit him so he spent some time with them and was forced to hear about how lucky he was to be dating a musician. He knew they were looking at the money part of things, but to Alex that wasn’t important at all. He would love Ethan just as much if he had a regular job and an average paycheck.
That night Alex went to bed around 11. He had a long day at work and felt like calling it a night early so he would be up and ready for Ethan who was coming home. In his head he was already planning the day. He would clean up a little in the morning and go grocery shopping so he could make Ethan’s favorite food and then he was pretty sure they would just end up making love all night. He was craving the man’s touch and kiss so hard, he really couldn’t wait to have him back in his arms again.
He felt strong arms wrap around his body and a voice whispering in his ear. Slowly opening his eyes, he moved his head so he could look back and see what was going on. “Ethan?” he asked a little confused. He wasn’t supposed to be home yet. Seeing his boyfriends sexy smile, he quickly turned around in his arms and started smiling himself. “Oh my god I was not expecting you.” He said with a chuckle, his eyes searching for his and his hand resting on his cheek as he leaned in and closed the gap between them. He breathed out heavily, his body relaxing visibly at the feeling of their lips pressed together. “I’ve missed you so much.” he whispered against his lips, his arms sneaking around him and holding him close.
“I know,” Ethan whispered, his grin growing wider as Alex twisted around to face here. Here Alex was—right in front of him, in the flesh. “I wanted to surprise you.” Ethan nuzzled Alex’s hand as he felt his boyfriend cup his cheek, his face flushing as Alex leaned in to close the gap between to press their lips together. It had been too long since their last kiss, but the seconds their lips touched it as if they had never been apart. Ethan smiled into the kiss, feeling his boyfriend visibly relax as the other’s arms snaked around him to pull him in tight.
Ethan continued to kiss Alex for several minutes before he finally dared to break away, his nose nuzzling against the other males. “I’ve missed you too, babe.” Ethan breathed out, his voice a husky tenor. “I’ve missed you so much. Being on tour away from you—fuck. It was the hardest thing I’ve ever done. I’m glad I got to get out there and play my new music and see my fans... but it doesn’t make up for how much I missed you. Missed seeing you, talking to you, having you in my bed... just missing you.” Ethan knew he was talking fast—he couldn’t help it. He’d never been the greatest with words. He could write a love song, no problem: saying it took some actual guts, but it was definitely something he was working on. “I love you, Lex.” Ethan replied with a sappy smile, his hand rubbing the small of his back as he pulled Alex in for another kiss.
