Surround Sound (5.1) with a CMI8788
Setting it to 5.1 in sound preferences (System Settings > Sound) was not enough. I had to manually uncomment the following line in /etc/pulse/daemon.conf:
default-sample-channels = 6
Installing packages for a specific architecture via apt
Simply append the target architecture, seperated by a colon (e.g. :i386), to the package name. Useful for installing 32bit libs on a 64bit OS.
Example:
sudo apt-get install libgl1-mesa-dri:i386 libgl1-mesa-glx:i386 libc6:i386
Yes, this was used to get Steam up and running.

If you want to verify the downloaded packages, # you will need to add our public key sudo apt-key adv --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com --recv-keys 94558F59 # 3. Run apt-get update sudo apt-get update # 4. Install spotify! sudo apt-get install spotify-client
