Hot Take but fans need to calm down a bit whenever there's a new redesign of a franchise.

This is mostly towards the vast negativity towards the new looks in recently released Shrek 5 trailer, but I've seen this happen literally every time there is new, updated look to returning piece of media that hasn't been around for years.

The last Shrek film released almost two decades ago. Technology has changed, a new studio has taken over production of the franchise, there's a whole new team involved. Of course it's going to look different especially since the studio would want to try to keep up the quality of recent animated films. And honestly, the new designs looks fine. It still looks like a Shrek film. Yes, some of the characters changes are going to take a bit of getting used to, but most of the characters look perfectly fine. But fans are acting like it's another Ugly Sonic situation.

No. Just...no. Nothing can compare to Ugly Sonic. That was a once in a decade situation.

It's fine to have critiques on style and design choices, but I hate when fandoms over exaggerate over something that just isn't a huge deal and nowhere near as terrible as they claim it to be. And for goodness sake, stop accusing any art style you don't like as AI.
