Where is the difference between flatten image and merge visible???P.S love you bebe :)
When you select "Flatten Image" you merge all of the layers and they become a “Background” (a image that you can’t move). When you select "Merge Visible" you merge just the layers that have the “little eye” turned on (the visibility) and they become a normal layer! :)
Select all the layers that you want to merge, including the group > Go to Layer > In the bottom of the column there will be a line called "Merge Layers" > Select it > You’re done!
1 - Ok, so first of all choose a image (I chose this one).
2 - Open it on photoshop and crop it as you want it to be in the final graphic. You can also resize it (mine is250x310).
3 - With the "Quick Selection Tool", select the person in the picture, just like this:
4 - Now, go to the top of the screen and select "Refine Edge" (here).
5 - Change the settings of your "Refine Edge" to something like this:
now, your picture must look like this:
6 - Now, create a new white layer (Layer > New Fill Layer > Solid Color). Put the new layer below the picture layer. Your layers must look like this:
7 - Select the Picture Layer and, with the "Brush Tool" (35x0), paint the edges of the picture. Now you must have something like this:
Go to Layer > Flatten Image.
8 - Now, press CTRL+J (to create a new layer). Go to Image > Adjustments > Brightness/Contrast > Change the settings to 30x70 > Ok.
Go to Layer > Merge Visible.
9 - Go to Window > Channels > Create a new Channel (yes, the color must me red!). Now your Channels must look like this:
10 - Select the "Elliptical Marquee Tool" > set Feather to 100% > Draw a circle around the picture, just like this:
11 - On the keyboard, select "Delete" twice. Your picture will be kinda "red", to fix it, select the "Brush Tool" and "clean" it as you want (don't clean the background, just the person/thing!). Here's my result:
12 - Now, go to Filter > Noise > Add Noise > Change the "Amount" to 60,0 > Ok. Your picture must look like this:
13 - Go to Filter > Filter Gallery > Brush Strokes > Angled Strokes > Keep the original settings > Ok. Now you must have something like this:
14 - Go to "Channel" > Select the "Alpha 1" layer > Press CTRL+C > Your picture will look like this:
Press CTRL+ SHIFT + I (to invert selection)
14 - Go to your Channels > Select your "Alpha 1" layer > Double click at it > A "page" will pup-up, change the setting of it to something like this:
Now, your picture must look like this:
15 - Select your "Layers" (unselect "Channels) > Press CTRL + J (to duplicate layer) > Change it to "Multiply".
16 - Layer > New > Layer > Ok. Copy this texture and paste it in your new layer > Select the duplicated layer and put it above the texture layer, just like this:
17 - Now, choose a texture (I chose this one) > Chosse a good PSD > Feel free to edit it as you want > Go to your "Channels" > Merge Channels > Save it and you're done!
Here's my final result, hope you like it, any questions just ask me!:
Hey photoshop lovers! In this tutorial I'll teach you guys how to make this kind of graphic, with one part colored and the rest B&W! Why it's a full tutorial? Because here I'll show you how to make this kind of efect in your graphic, with PSD's, actions and textures!! Are you ready? So let's do this!
1º - Open your picture on photoshop (don't edit it!)
2º - Go to Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Gradient Map... (a window will pup up, but don't worry, just click "Ok") > Gradient Editor (here) > Ok
3º - Now, select the Gradient Map layer > Go to the "Brush Tool" > With it, "paint" the part that you want to be colored > The part that you painted will be with the original color of the picture and the part that you didn't paint will be B&W (because of the Gradient Map).
Now your picture must look like this:
4º - Now it's time to put some cool effects on it! Go to Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Vibrance > Change your settings to this!
Now your picture must look like this:
5º - It looks a little fake, right? Don't worry, we'll fix it! Now, download this PSD/ACTION and open the PSD on photoshop!
6º - Drag the PSD in your picture. It must look strange, right? Now look at your layers. Your PSD layer is above all the layers, right? Now you have to drag it below the "Gradient Map" layer (just like this).
Now your picture looks like this, right?:
7º - Now we're almost done! Go to Layer > Flatten Image.
8º - Go to Window > Action > Open the action that you downloaded with the PSD.
That's how your picture must look right now!:
9º - Now, the final step! Open this texture on photoshop > Drag it into your graphic > Change the "Blending Option" to Screen/Lighten > Change the "Opacity" to 10%-15%
10º - Go to "File" > Save for web... > Save as PNG > Now you're done!
Yes, I'm back from my long hiatus and with me I bring my newest tutorial...how to put some shadows in your graphic!
1º - First of all, open your picture and take it background's off, just like this:
2º - Now, go to File > New > Change the settings to 500 x 600 (choose the option "transparent" to the background!)
3º - Now you have a transparent layer, right? Choose any color that you want and drop it in the layer! Now you must have an >any color here< layer (mine is blue!)
4º - Drop your picture (with no background) into your new colored layer. If you followed all the steps, you must have something like this:
5º - Now look at your layers. You must have two, the one with the background (with the color) and the one with the picture. Select the one with the picture and, with the right button, select the option "Duplicate Layer"
6º - Select your duplicated layer and double click it. Now you must be in a "page" called "Layer Style".
7º - Select the option "Color Overaly" and choose the color BLACK. Your picture must look really weird now, but don't worry, we'll fix it!
8º - Now, look at your layers again. The duplicated layer is above the original picture layer, right? Now what you have to do is to make it look bellow the original picture, just like this:
9º - Now is time to the most important step! Are you ready? Select the Duplicated Layer > Go to Edit > Transform > Distort.
10º - Now you can make what tou want with your shadow, I did something really simple, just like this:
11º - Now your shadow must look a little rustic, right? Don't worry, we'll fix it! Select your shadow layer (the duplicated layer) > go to filter > blur > gaussian blur > change the settings to "5.5". Now you must have something like this:
12º - Now we are almost done! Go to the opacity of your layer and change it to "30%" (or you can make your own opacity, you choose!). That's have you have now, right?:
13º - Now it's time for fun! Go to layer > flatten image > edit as you want your graphic, you can use textures, psds, topaz or any other ways to let it look just like you want!
Thank you SO MUCH for your tutorials! I mean seriously I have such a hard time finding tutorials for cs6 and you helped so much and you made everything so much easier (I've only used one of your tutorials but yes they're so much more helpful than others!) ^.^
Thank you dear, that kind of ask makes my day <3 I'm happy that you like my tutorials, that means a lot!
someone just posted a tutorial on the square thing yesterday, and you posted it today... don't steal tutorials.
I didn't steal, I did it by myself. It's not my fault that someone asked me (two weeks ago) a tutorial about it and now that I'm out of my hiatus, I did it. That person, that posted the tutorial, isn't the only person who know how to use the square thing, ok? I'm sorry for being rude, but you can't say that, not for me ;)
post/28284831675/how-to-make-this-kind-of-edit Sorry, I don't want to be rude, but this it's really bad explained. I think you forgot some parts, because some things can not be done. For example, I can't choose the option "layer style" without duplicating my image, which didn't stayed with the background white when it was supposed to. And yes, I did everything right. I'm pretty sure of it.
Hi! I'm sorry about that, but I am pretty sure that it works! Maybe you did something wrong, come here without the "anony" thing and I can help you!
What's the best site you would suggest for hq pics of like, all celebs? :]
Hum, I usually pick pictures from the official sites, or from the fan sites. But I looked for something to you, and I've found that blog with really good HQ pictures! Hope it help you!
Hello! I totally LOVE your blog!! :] Helps me A LOT! THANK YOU! I have a question in cs6 can you do some cool effects like little bubbles around or something like that? (Not effects like psd's and colourings) :] thankk you!
Hi!! Thank you dear :) Oh, I think so, but if you're new at Photoshop, it's easier to you to use textures, because they're simple and easy to use, and the effect is always good!
