“We’re living in a wasteland”, quarantine version (video).
Currently mildly obsessed with “Antarctica starts here”.
Her schoolhouse mind has windows now Where handsome creatures come to watch
Which one is your favourite version?
The Paris 1919 version is, of course, rather soft, but rather calming. The 1983 live version is beautiful. Gotta compare the Rockpalast version and the Hamburg bootleg which I repeatedly keep raving about.
Here’s a version of Antarctica starts here I have not seen before:

Penblwydd Hapus, John Cale.
I love your sounds, you cheeky old bugger.
P.S. If you missed it in 2011, treat yourself to the John Cale tribute page A Tribute to John Cale.

Bernstein and Cale
Ever wondered how Leonard Bernstein “influenced” John Cale?
"When Cale finally gets an opportunity to perform a piece of his own at Tanglewood he shocks his audience by pulling an axe from a piano and pounding it into the middle of a table."
Read the short piece regarding the 1960s, you’ll meet some folks you have met on OH YES, JOHN CALE! before, like Lou Reed, Sterling Morrison, Moe Tucker, Andy Warhol, La Monte Young and The Velvet Underground, of course.
There’s an album to come!
John Cale posted this update yesterday.
