Honestly, the weirdest adhd feel is zoning out while youâre talking because when you come back, youâre still talking and the other person is still listening, but you have no fucking idea what you said while on autopilot.
The words flowed through Vyâs mind like water, sliding between actions, trickling around conversations. Seeping into the books and crannies of her brain until it was completely saturated.
Obey.Â
Serve.Â
Worship.Â
Before sheâd even realized it they had become part of the foundation of her psyche, rooting into her unconscious.Â
She could still talk, of course. Still drive, do her job or make herself food. But the words were always just beneath the surface.
That (Obey) was how (Serve) it was supposed to be. (Worship)

You forgot to mention that it was because @copperheronâ and I were having a debate about lyrics, and we had to restart part of it because we were singing so loud he couldnât hear the lyrics in question over us singing them. :)

Itâs hard to be offended when white people jokes involve bland food/tourist dads in socks and sandals/white girls in yoga pants obsessed with pumpkin spice/suburban PTA moms and other harmless and mostly true stereotypes while jokes about POC involve them being called thugs/criminals/slurs/uneducated/illegal immigrants.
6. Theyâre usually really fucking funny and donât perpetuate stereotypes that will ever affect me economically, politically, or cause me any true harm, let alone create risks that âjustifyâ my murder and/or death
7. White people explored the world and found every place there were people. They left absolutely no hole unfucked. And then they wanna complain when they canât use their expired coupons CAROL.
8. I am a white people and I donât trust white people.
White people stereotypes and jokes are sooooo harmless. Precious little cornflakes who get offended must really be fragile yikes. Theyâd crumble to dust if they went through half of what POC go through.

How talking tech and robots that give hugs are returning us to the oldest form of human cognition: animism
âAnimism is not so much a set of beliefs as a form of cognition. I think we are all natural-born animists, and those of us in Western developed countries slowly learn to discount this mode of cognition in favour of a mechanical view of the world. Indigenous approaches to nature are dubbed uneducated or juvenile because they use agency and purpose to think about nature (eg, âthe pine tree is for the warbler,â or âthe river wants revengeâ, etc). However, some philosophers and psychologists are striking back, pointing out that animistic thinking reveals many of the subtle ecological relations in nature that mechanical approaches miss.
If animist thinking is childish and uneducated, then why are indigenous peoples so much better at surviving and thriving in local natural ecologies? Some kinds of animism are adaptive and aid our survival, because they focus our attention on ecological connections, but they also train our social intelligence to predict and respond to other agents. If your world is thick with other agents â all vying for their desires and goals â then you spend a lot of time organising, revising and strategising your own goals in a social space of many competing aims.
So our new âtech-animismâ might not be detrimental at all. I might not really be âhelpingâ the robot, and it might not be âhelpingâ me, but behaving as if weâre actually relating â even bonding â keeps our empathic skills honed and ready for when it really counts. Immersion in tech relationships is not creating the loneliness epidemic. Itâs a response to it. The actual causes of the loneliness epidemic started way before digital dominance. Our new animism â animism 2.0 â might be quite helpful in keeping the social emotions and skills healthy enough for real human bonding, perspective-taking and empathy. Instead of dehumanising us, this tech-animism could actually be keeping us human.â
