“We’ll see, I’m usually good with directions and finding my way around but this isn’t a big city. So it should be easier right?”
“Especially if you’re good with directions. I have no sense of direction but I think I’ve got this town down pat, so you’re practically golden.”
Luna shook her head she took in his words but they did nothing to calm the storm she didn’t want anyone else she never had despite having the chance to have whoever she wanted. Her body ached but she found the strength to shake her head at Jackson “i don’t want anyone I want him don’t you fucking get it. He pushed her off but im so mad it even happened. An I just want him to love me Jackson, I don’t want to lose him” she said taking her time to speak. She wiped at her eyes “did I do something wrong? Did I not love him enough? Was I in the wrong? Will he still marry me” she asked the question that had been stuck on her mind replying on a constant loop “I love him”. The pain she felt was unlike one she had before, the possibility of loosing him was enough to feel her heartbreak in her chest, to picture him with someone else “I guess you’re happy now right? This is what you wanted isn’t it.. To make him a bad guy, and for me to be heartbroken” she added wanting to inflict the same pain she was in to Jackson.
Jackson listened to his sister ramble, her passion and love for Xavier so strong that even Jackson could feel his heart break a little. He couldn’t tell if it was breaking for her or if she was obviously so distraught that she was projecting the same feelings onto him. He ran his hand through his hair, pulling slightly, trying to think of a way to make this right, but nothing came to mind. Jackson was at a loss. “Luna, you didn’t do anything wrong. It was obvious how much you loved him, he has to know. And you said he pushed the girl off, it’s obvious in the video, he definitely didn’t want to kiss her. It doesn’t even look like you have anything to worry about,” he said, words practically desperate with the need to make things better, fix things. He scoffed, shaking his head at Luna’s words, hurt she would even say something like that to him, “That’s bullshit, I never wanted you heartbroken, Luna, don’t say that shit to me. I know I’m not Xavier’s biggest fan, but he made you happy and that’s all I wanted for you.”
“Well at least its good though.. You have a point I have seen my fair bit of crazy shit in my life” she said shaking her head “which makes me want to hide inside”
“Your roommate must be pretty boring then if you decided to finally explore the outdoors.”
“I haven’t seen another person besides my roommate in days” Sage huffed letting her blonde locks fall in front of her eyes. Pushing them back she looked at the person next to her “how have you been though? Are things good? Anything crazy happen?” she asked letting a smile tug at her lips.
“Shockingly everything is the same, and if anything crazy happened it probably still isn’t the craziest thing you’ve ever heard.”
“I need you to back the fuck up right now, turn around, and fuck off,” Evan muttered, hands shaking slightly as his chest heaved. “Because I don’t know how much longer I can function around people before I do something I’ll regret in the morning.”
“Alright, alright, I’ll leave,” Jackson said, holding his hands up in the universal sign that said he meant no harm, “just tell me what happened. I won’t feel okay with leaving without knowing.”
Jackson stood in the kitchen of the large house, slowly pouring himself a cup of coffee, when he heard the front door open. He looked up automatically, not expecting it to be Xavier, blood running cold. He considered just tossing the entire hot cup of coffee at the other man, mug and everything, but he reminded himself that his goal was to fix everything. So he slowly set the mug down, walking towards the front door, making eye contact and holding it for a while without saying anything, controlling the anger he felt. “What the fuck were you thinking,” was the first thing he blurted out, “seriously, please tell me there’s a logical explanation for breaking my sister’s heart?” He asked, raising an eyebrow and crossing his arms. His over protective brother side automatically came out, but he couldn’t help that at all.

Cole smiles, “so you have to just kind of let yourself get lost huh?”
“Pretty much. It’s not a difficult town to figure out though, I think you’ll get the hang of it soon.”

Luna grabbed her phone chucking it at her brother knowing it would explain everything “Xavier and some fucking whore kissed” she said her voice so bitter it was foreign to her ears. The video showed a girl kissing him, and after searching for it, him pushing her off. But still they had a fight and this wasn’t like before things felt different, as she thought of the possibility of loosing him again a fit of tears came on. Her body shook as she cried holding onto her brother “hes gonna leave me” she said through the tears, knowing all well the ring on her finger and the small pinch of hope was the only thing keeping her going right now “i don’t deserve him and never have” she cried out.
Jackson picked up Luna’s phone, hearing the blood rushing through his ears and seeing nothing but red as soon as he watched the video. He clicked it again, watching it replay, needing to make sure he didn’t just make up what he was seeing. Jackson put his arm around his sister, holding her tight, still staring at her phone in shock, unsure of what to even say. He wanted to say that the next time he saw Xavier he was going to kill him, but he knew that wouldn’t make his sister feel any better. Instead he shook his head, mumbling, “I can’t fucking believe him.” He continued to shake his head when Luna brought herself down, almost shaking with anger, “You’re right, you don’t deserve him, you deserve better. Someone who wouldn’t do this to you. Luna, you have to leave him, you can’t stay with him after this bullshit.”
Mackenzie sat cross legged on the grass field as her hands scribbled away on her notebook. Upon noticing a presence beside her she looked up, “wanna sit with me while i write?” she asked.
“Nothing I wanna do more,” he teased, sitting beside her, “whatcha doing writing all the way out here?”
“I really should’ve gotten a map..”, he laughs looking around.

Since returning to Roseland Luna hadn’t left her room, she hadn’t done much of anything besides remain in her bed, crying at everything. Her heart was breaking and even though, when she was on the phone with Xavier earlier she had seemed to give off the appearance she was fine really she was a ticking timebomb. All of the roommates had stopped by but she ignored their calls replacing their voices with Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran and The 1975 but it was now nearing five days and she was sure if her brother didn’t get let in he would knock the door down. Standing up she pulled down the hem of Xavier’s shirt a memory of him she needed while he was gone wiping her eyes which were red, and puffy in hopes it wouldn’t appear as if she had been crying she opened the door. “Hey” Luna said her voice was croaky and she moved aside to let Jackson, once he was in she shut the door behind him moving back to the bed, she directly went back under the blankets pulling them up she laid on her side facing away from Jackson “what do you want?”
When Luna finally opened the door, Jackson was sure his heart stopped. His sister had never looked so disheveled and upset in her life, and he’d had his fair share of times where they just sat, holding each other. He noticed right away that she’d been obviously cry, and it was concerning that she turned her back to him, obviously not caring by the way she lay in the bed, probably there since he’d last seen her when they got back. “Luna, what the hell,” he murmured, unsure of how to approach this, how to help her, “what’re you doing? I haven’t seen you in days. Have you even eaten anything? What the hell happened?” He sat on the bed beside his sister, placing a hand gently on her shoulder. Usually he knew exactly what his sister needed when she was this way, but he didn’t even know what happened or what did this to her, he had no idea what to do and it freaked him out.
Walking around the house felt like walking around a ghost town. It’d been a few days since Jackson had seen his sister but he knew she was home, her door permanently closed. He knew no one had gone in or out of there, and he wondered what she was doing in there for so long. Deciding to get some answers, Jackson eventually walked towards Luna’s room, hesitating momentarily before knocking and calling, “Luna? Are you even alive in there? Lemme in.”

“Well they also sent a cake, but I ate that” she shrugged :i’m sure the flowers would taste nice also, just gotta broaden your horizons”. Taking in the bracelet she held it up looking at the two charms a smile on her face as she carefully slipped it onto her thin wrist. “I love it, and i’m very proud you said Xavier’s name without cringing: she teased. Moving to give her brother a hug she was happy, he of course didn’t have to get her anything and it never ceased to amaze her how well he knew her. “This is really special” she said outloud, thinking to how their parents just got her expensive things, because they thought she wanted that, but these gifts from the heart mattered more. “you’re gonna love pumpkin” she said softly.
“God dammit, Luns. Flowers aren’t cake and they taste like bitter grass. I’m kinda impressed and proud that you managed to eat a whole cake, however.” He sighed an audible breath of relief when she said she loved it, immediately returning her embrace tightly, “Hey, I’m warming up to him,” his tone was teasing but the words were true, watching the way Xavier and Luna interacted warmed Jackson’s heart, it was obvious there was nothing but pure love between them and they truly loved each other, so Jackson was working on it, finding it harder and harder every day to resent Xavier. “Never been an animal I haven’t liked,” he mumbled, giving his sister a last squeeze before pulling out of the hug, “and I’m glad you liked your gift. It’s nothing crazy but, uh. I dunno, it just made me think of you.”
Luna was enjoying her birthday it had for the most part been pretty calm, and while Xavier and the puppy slept upstairs she was catching a few rays of sun. The moments someone lifted her she let out a mix of giggles and squeal before her feet were back on the stone around the pool. “Thank you” she said giving her brother a quick hug “you missed the big breakfast spread it was massive, and the boxes of cupcakes mom and and sent.. OH and the flowers” she said bouncing slightly. “Did you see Pumpkin? Shes the puppy Xavier got me, isn’t that exciting” Luna asked running a hand through her hair “are you alright?”
“Trust me there were no missing those cupcakes and flowers, speaking of they were delicious. The cupcakes, not the flowers,” he chuckled, “and no I haven’t seen Pumpkin but I’m guessing I will be very soon.” When Luna asked if he was alright he shuffled, clearing his throat, suddenly nervous. “Yeah, yeah, I’m good, just... weirdly nervous to give you your gift I guess,” he mumbled, taking the bracelet out of his back pocket. It was a simple gold band, with dangling charms that took on the shape of the moon and a flower, “It’s supposed to be like your name, see? And you can add more charms too, like something that represents Xavier or whatever’s really important to you.”
