The old netkun site used to have a dedicated Q&A section that ended up giving a lot of of supplementary info. Here’s a bunch of that info listed, though I had to go through google translate to get the gist of them: [x]

I think my favorite one is that Red’s not rich despite being champion because almost all of his earnings go to feeding his Snorlax ^-^

I would say my favorites go to the following:

In round 193, Sapphire’s Lorry/Eruru (Wailord) sneezes caused a tsunami, but all the people on the beach were safe.

Ruby obtained Rara/Ruru (Ralts) and Nana (Poochyena) in Kanto/Johto, in Routes 34 and 1, respectively. HGSS later added in mass outbreaks in those specific areas for those two Pokémon. (Personal note: super nice touch by the mangaka to decide on origin locations, though Route 1 is a tad bit far from Goldenrod, not to mention it’s in Kanto. However, considering it’s a gift from his dad, that’s pretty excusable. Still, Kanto, not Johto… also, where was Kiki/Coco (Skitty) obtained? In-game, it could only be obtained via Pokéwalker, in Hoenn Field, which is, well, Hoenn, heh. To be fair, there were quite a few Hoenn Pokémon in the fight against Lugia and Ho-Oh, so anything can be fair game. Continued reading and found out that it was some person from Hoenn who brought those Pokémon for a battle. Welp. Regardless, the fact that Ralts and Poochyena could spawn in-game is quite impressive.)

Mahogany Gym was unmanned when Pryce was outed. (Personal note: Ok, so was there another Gym Leader? Otherwise, rip Pokémon League. Though, I guess with the trauma that occurred, perhaps the League was canceled indefinitely? Sadness.)

Veilstone Game Corner was run by a subordinate organization of Team Galactic, so it’s closed. Poor Maylene’s dad. It’s for the best that you don’t gamble.

So I was very amused about these dorks with different amounts of spikes in the ORAS chapter and then I realized upon re-reading through the RS arc that these dorks existed back then too.

So, over four years later, and thanks to @theviolenttomboy‘s link, I can now also say that these three dorks have confirmed names based on the netkun site: ワタスケ Watasuke (one spike), クウタ Kūta (two spikes), and ノンキチ Nonkichi (three spikes). And of course, Bulbapedia already has information on this. My goodness.
