Let's get one thing clear, Jester doesnāt view romance in the same light as the others in his family. Whilst he does understand the value of having a romantic partner or at least a companion - Just look at how much he cares for his family. At first Jester may seem quite detached from you, viewing you mostly as a pet, a temporary reprieve. But if you manage to hold on and keep a grip on his heart, eventually youāll see a side of him reserved for a select few.Ā
Jester can be rather possessive over you, not to the same degree as Pierrot would be. However he has his moments of wanting you and only you - and he will let others around you know just who you belong to. I wouldnāt put it past him to put an actual leash on you when you're at the circus just to emphasise the point. Or at least some kind of collar preferably purple.Ā
And the same note he can be VERY overprotective of you. Whilst he wonāt baby you, if someone ever disrespects you, hurt your feelings, or god forbid actually physically harms you - Jester will make damn sure they wonāt be a problem or even a passing thought in your mind again. Now donāt get me wrong, Jester loves to make fun of you often taking advantage of how much weaker you are compared to him to keep hold of the power dynamic he has over you. But someone else doing that he will not tolerate.
Jester absolutely DESPISES being touched. This shouldn't be a surprise to anyone given what he has been through. He will touch you, in fact he touches you a lot, but if you try to return any form of affection? No, just no. If he ever lets you touch him you must hold the key to heavens gates. And even then its small, he may let you hold his hand for a moment or two - or something along those same lines.
He knows exactly what to say and when to say it to make your knees weak and your heart race. Knowing that he can sway you with just his words and make you weak for him gives his ego such a giant boost. He knows how to make your heart race, using careful and calculated words to make your head beat for him and only him. Before you know it heāll have you clinging to him like hes the only life line you have left.
Jester almost never uses your name once heās grown an attachment to you - His go to is darling or dearest. It feels like honey anytime he calls you one. But on very quiet moments, heāll let a sweetheart slip out and it's almost hypnotic how sweet it is.
His name though? No. It's Jester. Call him Jester. No nicknames
If you have hair, Jester has quite the fondness for it. He loves quiet moments with you, having your head on his lap and just stroking your hair, moving loose strands away from your face. On rare occasions heāll brush your hair, and if it's long enough:Ā heāll style it for you as well. These little moments are some he secretly cherishes. Heāll never let you know that though.
Despite this, Jester keeps his physical touch to a minimum. And in public it's almost nonexistent - really he only touches your shoulder in public to grab your attention or guide you somewhere, other than that, he likes to stand directly behind you, often leaning closeĀ to your ear to say something to you.
It's no mystery that Jester is a fan of being in control, he prefers someone who will obey him without a second thought. And sometimes it does feel as if you are nothing but a pet to him, a plaything. Yet Jester has his ways of showing you he does care for you. Subtle ways, but they are there.Ā
The way he always notes when youāve done something well. Heāll always notice if you changed something about yourself, even if it's super subtle, heāll notice and compliment you. Patting your head when you are nervous. Small but meaningful things to let you know youāre more than a distraction to him.
If you get to know him enough and eventually he grows enough to trust you. He will slightly release just how much of a hold he has on you. Heāll let more things slide than before. Whilst he does still have the power over you, and will still make you submissive to him, heāll start easing back more. On the rare occasion letting you have a bit of control.
