Alpha versions of the upcomming Ret79, another addition to the RetXX lineup. This one is presented in the form of a video game. At this stage it only has the framework for what is to come. The visuals will most likely stay the way they are.
I’ve been playing around with the newest version of Unity, version 5.3. It seems to work pretty well, with some hiches and bugs here and there, but for the most part it functions.
Unity 5.3 adds screen space raytraced reflections to the mix, although in the settings of the feature it states “steps”, so I’m inclined to think its raymatching rather than raytraced.
In this game demo, its coupled with the built in reflectionprobes. It produces nice reflections.
As you can see, the framerate is rather superb, even with higher quality reflections, and lots of screen effects going on (two layers of bloom filtering). So I think the game might run fairly well when the game reaches its final build.
