This is a lovely example of how you can cover up a hole with embroidery!
One suggestion to make this mend last longer is to fix the hole first, for example by sewing on a small patch on the back or by darning it, and then adding the embroidery on top.
literally most things that people write off as just âtexturesâ to use in graphics are stolen & unsourced material created by artists or photographers NOT meant to be used as elements in projects without royalty payments. you can say âitâs just random tumblr posts they donât careâ but you wouldnât want someone to take your work and edit into their work so they can be praised for their beautiful style and creativity even if they just post it on social media w/o profit, would you?? so maybe if you browse pinterest or google images for pictures without finding the original source, youâre using images that youâre not allowed to use without realizing it.
you see it on here a lot especially in (i wonât link anything but iâm sure you know what i mean) those album track âaestheticsâ posts, au âaestheticâ posts (you see these less in kpop, but where people use non-royalty free images to kinda craft a visual au), and even just rather typical graphics that have a lot of âtextureâ elements. and texture packs too!! thatâs often where the problem starts; people just collect images (often literal art), compile them in a folder w/o sources, then insist no one can repost those images w/o crediting the person who compiled them. what???
SO may i suggest some of my fave places you can get FREE, ROYALTY-FREE elements that are totally legal to use
creativemarket has 6 free high-quality resources (textures, brushes, fonts, etc), different every week! wow awesome i check it every week
search âfreebieâ on behance. awesome stuff!!! lots of v nice templates textures and fonts
mockup zone freebies
unsplash: tons of very nice free photographs, not shitty stock photos
pexels: same idea. + they have an adobe plugin so you can get photos without closing your editor damn nice
pixelsquid is a super cool free program (again w a ps plugin that i love) with lottts of super cool hq 3d elements!
as to not make this too long: spoongraphics, lostandtaken (textures galore), pixeden, freebiesbug.
Iâm gonna add a few more:
Morguefile is my favorite free stock photo site
Texturemate is full of excellent free textures, brushes, and patterns.Â
Transparent Textures actually lets you combine colors and patterns to build your own texture right there in the browser.
Hey guys! Iâm a sort of designer enthusiast/hobbyist and I do my fair share of freelancing, so overtime Iâve accumulated a list as well which I would love to share with you.
Freepik has anything from textures to layered psds, icons and so much more that is actually free to use.
Unsplash is a community of photographers which provides daily content that you can use! You donât have to credit them but you should. Theyâre amazing.
Icons8 is basically a library of icons and icon sets, they have a little over 60,000 icons for you to choose from.
The Pattern Library is a very generous project of Julien Renvoye, heâs basically created a library of amazing seamless patterns/textures you can use.
Additional hot tip I personally use: Google has a function in image search where you can specifically search for images based on usage rights!
Thereâs a fancy tools button on the side here, and when you click that, you can select what mark you want to search for:
When you click on the type youâre wanting⊠Ta-dah!! the images are filtered. We used this for journalism class back when I was in college \o/
fucked up how colors look different depending on what screen youâre looking at them on. that should be illegal I think
this fucking shit, you know
I spend so much time carefully picking and adjusting the colors in every single drawing I make that Iâd probably lose my mind if I didnât just repeatedly push this out of my memory and pretend itâs not a thing. Why am I reblogging a blank empty post that doesnât say anything??? Weird
good news! you canât make sure that everyone will see the correct colors on their own device, but you can make sure your monitor is as accurate as possible for printing and sharing by calibrating it!Â
there are a bunch of free monitor tests, but hereâs an easy one you can use. the passmark and eizo tests are also pretty good, though passmark doesnât work in your browser. be warned that some tests may cause eye strain.
you can either use the settings built into your monitor itself or use the display color calibration settings in your operating system to adjust the settings until everything looks correct, and then enjoy your accurate colors.
REBLOG TO SAVE A LIFE
Photographers, too. Color calibrate your monitors if you intend to print or sell your work. Thereâs a ton of info out there for this.

things to take away from the new interactions
- nobody likes junkrat
- nobody likes moira
- nobody likes symmetra, but itâs okay because she doesnât like anyone either
- doomfist keeps trying to get people to join talon. nobody wants to join talon. heâs so desperate at this point that his pitch to mccree was âjoin us and weâll buy you clothes.â somebody help this man
- lucio has/had a dad that worked for vishkar and apparently everyone knows about this man who we didnât even know existed until like 2 days ago
- orisa wants efi to go to college and is willing to murder mccree to get the money for it
- roadhog said one thing and it was to junkrat. someday theyâll give this man other interactions with other people. today is not that day.
- pharah knows that jack is soldier 76. new headcanon that his identity is the worst kept secret in the world but people are just pretending not to know to be nice whos with me on this
- speaking of pharah she flirted with at least 75% of the girls sheâs so powerful
- torbjorn doesnât know what happened to mccreeâs arm, which means that he lost it after overwatch disbanded
- dva and zenyatta still have no lore
Anyways go follow my new blog if you're interested, if you would miss me, if you think I'm worthy.
"Today is definitely the last day I use this blog because I'll, whitout fail, will change my account on mobile." I said, naively, fully aware that it's more likely I'll keep doing this the whole week. But there's always hope.
