Rude Awakening || Rio & Hart
Hart just smiled after hearing her remark about not seeing each other for a long time. Seriously, these two were friendly farmers living in the same town… and yet they didn’t talk to each as much. Even though it was true, the male brunette didn’t mind it that much. They were both pretty busy with their own farm. Still, he wanted to hang out with her sometime in the future when he has free of work.
His smile fell when she was curious of the strange phenomenon lately. At first, it seemed like an unusual but rare occurrence of this type of weather in Echo Village… but it was becoming strange and even ominous when the strange weather didn’t return back to normal. He looked up at the cloudy sky. “It’s really strange…” he said with a slight worried tone.
When Hart heard her change the subject to something else, it almost sounded like Mineral High to him. He was quite surprised, but his soft expression barely showed it… especially when the cold winds and the chilly air made his cheeks a little red. Does she remember that event too…? the Echo Farmer thought. Rod… Claire… and now, Rio. They were the only people he knew so far that were able to remember that high school experience.
"Maybe… maybe not," he joked, closing his eyes. "But if I remember correctly… you were elected as queen for the prom…" Hart chuckled before showing a soft smile. "Hmm… of course I remember that event," he told her with a cheery tone.
Momentarily forgetting about the weather, she gave a lighthearted smile at his words before the word prom was brought into play. A tinge of a blush lit up her cheeks and she averted her eyes to the Goddess Pond to the side of them. Thank goodness for the cold temperature. At least there would be an explanation for her slightly red face. "..Ah ha, yeah. I nearly forgot about that. You're the first one to say something about it, actually."
"Hmm, you were with Claire, right?" She chuckled as the memories trickled back. "That seems like such a long time ago, but yet so close... If that makes any sense." She laughed and waved the statement off with a flick of her wrist. "No, it probably doesn't. I feel like I'm speaking nonsense these days anyway... But things were a lot simpler back then. At Mineral High, I mean. It may have been school, but now there are a lot of other problems."
More pressing problems that her "high school" self probably would've scoffed at. Her gaze lingered in space for a moment before shifting to the goddess pond. "Problems like this... Whatever this is exactly."
