Random Coltland Twin Headcanons in somewhat chronological order:
They swapped places in class as kids to test if people could tell them apart, most effectively in the year Ryland was trialling contact lenses (he didn’t get on with them). Nobody noticed.
They both worked as teens to save money to move out. Ryland worked in a cafe, Colt was doing stunts for teen actors having been recruited from a parkour club he’d been going to for years.
They moved out the day they turned 18 into a tiny flat just for them. It was closer to Colt’s work and the university Ryland was going to.
Colt attended one of Ryland’s tutorial classes at university once when Ryland was sick to maintain his attendance, and really enjoyed it.
The only time the twins were easily distinguishable was when Colt dyed his hair dark brown for a role. Surprisingly people still got them confused with each other.
When Ryland lost his job after the conference, he moved in with Colt for a while. Colt was the one who convinced him to give teaching a try.
Ryland is aroace and honestly thought attraction was a made up thing for movies and books like magic or unicorns until he witnessed Colt falling head over heels for Jody in real time.
