Colt and Court always putting Ryland behind them, not because he's fragile or can't defend himself, but because he's completely impulsive and WILL FIGHT anyone who talks shit about his brothers.
Ryland'll put himself of his older brother when their father started to get violent. He'll start yelling and cursing those who bothered Colt.
They put him behind for a safety measure, because Ryland always put them first. He doesn't care what will be the consequences.
Sometimes Claire Fitzroy thought that she was adopted by a child and not by a government agent.
Six was professional, skilled and focused when it mattered. When her safety was at stake, Six was an unstoppable force, deadlier than anything known to man. He was ruthless and precise, not wasting any additional second for things that could be done faster. However, outside this need to protect her, Six was so goofy and hilarious. It was so easy to mess with him, sending his mind into spiral because he clearly didn’t know a lot of things. Although, he always found a way to pay back, his confused and sometimes lost face was worth it.
That is, when Claire knew how to mess with Six. But right now she was in the middle of the mall, next to the pillar, pretending to scroll something in her phone. Six hid behind the same pillar next to her, pretending to count his money as he kept his head low.
«They’re still there…» Clair noted lazily, knowing that she looked stupid and Six, probably, too.
She glanced at the café again. Two men, that looked so much like Six, and one woman with similar features, Ryland, Colt and Holly. All chatting freely and not planning to go away any time soon. They were a bit tense, but clearly looking around, as they waited.
«I know,» Six mumbled in response, lowering his head even more. His cap was covering his eyes, which made him look weird.
«You do realize that you was the one to set this meeting, right?» Claire asked lazily, glancing at the man as he shifted uncomfortably. Nothing in him spoke of the man that could eliminate a whole room of solders in less than ten minutes. Right now he was afraid to face his own brothers that he already called twice. First one to inform that he was alive, second one to ask for the meeting. And now he was hiding behind the pillar. Claire scoffed.
As Six didn’t answer, she rolled her eyes, before turning on the heels of her boots and walking straight to the trio at the table. Six tried to hiss and call her back, but she didn’t care.
All three of them stopped talking as Claire absolutely cheekily flopped down on the free chair. They got confused, falling silent and staring at her in surprise. At that moment Claire thought that they had exactly the same lost expression as her guardian, maybe even funnier.
«Six is over there, he’s too much of a chicken to come here first,» Claire declared confidently, stealing one of the cheese sticks from the guy in glasses.
All three of them looked where Claire pointed, noticing a dark figure, that facepalmed so hard that it was audible even here.
«And… you are?» the guy in black and red jacket asked as his siblings didn’t know who to look at.
«His daughter,» Claire said in no less confident voice, seeing how the three adults were changing face colors from shock.
«His what?!» all three of them yelled in unison, making Claire’s smile even wider as Six was slowly getting closer to solve the problem.
Oh, she already loved this family! She’s gonna have so much fun here!
Reporter: is it ever strange being the one man who looks just like Tom Ryder?
Colt: I dunno, just part of the job. I did have an identical twin though
Reporter: Oh?
Colt: Yea but they got him.
Reporter: …they what-
Colt: I liked him too
What’s in the bag: Ryland Grace style
(Getting dragged along to meetings means bag searches happen quite often. He is NEVER ready)

Stratt, approximately three minutes after the explosion: I miss my dead wife.
Grace, right next to her, confused: wait, you had a wife?
Stratt: sometimes I can still hear his voice.
Claire, needs his age for school guardian thing: “-ah- Wait, how old are you?”
Court, genuinely curious what she thinks: “Wait, guess.”
Claire, no hesitation: “forty eight.”
Court, distressed: “…”
Claire: *wheezing*
Court: “WHHAAATT?!”
Claire, not actually ashamed at all: “ you said guess “
Court, exaggerating his reaction but also ow: “THAT WAS SO FAR OFF!”
Claire: “why are you yelling at me?”
Court: “THAT WASN’T EVEN CLOSE, WHAT- like normally when people play that game they’re like: ohhh they guess like a little bit younger, was That the little bit younger guess“
Claire, just fuckin with him now: “yeah aren’t you like fifty? Aren’t you-”
Court: “WWWWWHHAAAAAAATTTT”
“i love you.” x “you know i can’t love you like that, right? i’m sorry.”

A little tidbit for your courtlandgentry enjoyment,
Court is likely not as good a driver as Colt.
In the book, "On Target," Zack Hightower complains about Court's driving. More than once. And Court has gone on record as preferring motorcycles. If things get loud, he's perfectly happy to hang out a car window, hop onto the roof, whatever it takes to put lead into bad guys. But put him behind the wheel? Well, he's not liability bad, but he's considered marginal for an Operator. And granted, "marginal for an Operator" is still more adroit than 90% of civilian drivers (which he also demonstrates in "On Target").
However Colt, as we know, can make a Mustang dance at high speeds in a narrow parking garage, guide a truck from atop its hood, and keep an SUV from spinning out on a zero-traction bed of loose sand.
So, when they get into death-defying car chase shenanigans on their way to (or from) rescuing Ryland from PHM, Colt's the one who gets shoved into the driver's seat, and Court circles round to--very, very literally--ride shotgun.
(This arrangement continues into their civilian lives when Court's around. Ryland has literally never seen the frontseat of any car that has also contained both his brothers. Ever. They still make him navigate though. And no, he has never and will never be allowed to pick the music.)

“Care to dance, my love?” Ryland rolled his eyes slightly at Tom’s extended hand. They were in the kitchen of Tom’s home, which he’d only been in a handful of times before a few week ago, when it had become slightly more constant. “Here?” “Where else? I want to dance with my husband.” Something cold writhed in his stomach for a second at the word, despite Tom’s soft smile and tone. Husband. . A series of moments from Grace and Ryder's marriage in the Star(s) AU.
rgcu has taken a hold on me, send help (do not help me i am exactly where i want to be)
I just watched the first half of The Gray Man and I’m so far down the Coltland Gentry rabbit hole that I picked up on this tiny measly link between gray man, fall guy and phm because I like to overanalyse everything and the brothers are all I think about:
When Six calls Fitzroy he tells him he’s in a bit of a pickle, something I firmly believe he’s said since he was younger so has stuck with him well into being a highly skilled assassin. You know who else says ‘I’m in a pickle’ when he’s in far more than just a pickle? Colt Seavers. He texts Jody and says he’s in a pickle and I 100% believe that Colt got that from Court.
