Lecture Series Program

Last May 08, 2024, the GEE 16 held a lecture series program at Central Mindanao University Convention Center. Here's my take from the series:

A start-up is a project with the potential to be highly scalable working to solve a problem where the solution is not obvious. — QBO (kyobo)

A start-up ecosystem is formed by people, start-ups in their various stages and various types of organizations in location, interacting as a system to create new start-up companies.

There are three Start-Up statistics one should know. These are the following:

1. Global Start-up Economy Snapshot

2. Most Highly Valued Unicorns Worldwide

3. Best Countries for Start-ups (Sweden, Norway, and Israel)

Start-Up: The Journey

Our team conducted a separate interview to acquire a wide range of information concerning challenges that Central Mindanao University students regularly confront. In my instance, I had a difficult time doing the interview since I am too shy to approach individuals, especially those I don't know; also, I had to be careful with my language, behavior, and questions in order to avoid any confrontations. We spent a few days conducting the interviews, and when we were finished, we held a group meeting to analyze the individual interviews and synthesize the information we had gathered.

We've seen that the majority of students complain about their difficulty in purchasing necessities, particularly food, because there are few actual stores where they may do so. We took advantage of this chance to create something that benefits both us as entrepreneurs and our target market, which is students. We came up with the notion of offering a service that meets the demands of students. Because the majority of them have problems acquiring their essentials, we proposed the 'Student's Essential Box'. It is a box containing students' essentials that they ordered themselves, and we will have it delivered to them via courier through a cooperation with a certain courier party. From doing the interview to submitting the Venture proposal, it was an laborious endeavor, but we made it through as a team.

Entrepreneurship Introduction

Entrepreneurship has been subjected to me when I was in seventh grade. It discusses the attributes that an entrepreneur must have. Then I had another interaction with the Entrepreneurship subject in senior high school. We devised a business plan and built a product. And I'm taking Entrepreneurship again in my freshman year of college. At first, I believed the one I had today was just like the one I had before. As I explore the entrepreneurial world, I've learned a variety of lessons that will be extremely beneficial to me as an individual. In the introduction to Entrepreneurship, the differences between an entrepreneur and a business owner were discussed, as well as the distinction between an entrepreneur and a student. The introduction helped me remember Entrepreneurship while also revealing previously unknown aspects of Entrepreneurship. It helped me evaluate myself in order to become a better entrepreneur.
