“my Amanda”

i just wanted to add some context to my previous post, because i’m seeing some truly horrible things in the amanda abbington tag at the moment

i meat amanda in march 2014 at an event called “anatomy of a hit”

she got loads of hate when it was announced that she was going to play mary, and i got a ticket to the series 3 premiere so i organised a project called #lovesherlock where people could submit positive messages for her and the rest of the cast and crew and i printed them out and put them in a folder, and i was able to talk to sue vertue at the premiere and pass the folder on

when i met amanda, i asked her if she’d received the folder and she said that she has it at home and i told her that i organised it and she hugged me and said that she was really touched

then we got chatting and i said that i’d skipped a seminar to go to the event and she asked what i study and i said english & creative writing and she asked if i want to be a writer

i said yes and she said that that’s fantastic and that there aren’t enough female screenwriters and playwrights and she introduced me to mark gatiss and asked for my twitter handle so that she could follow me to keep up with what i’m working on

she’s honestly one of the sweetest people i’ve ever met, and i really feel that the way people spoke to and about her after yesterday’s incident, particularly regarding how the fan in question felt about the situation and how sincerely she apologised when i contacted her on his behalf (see the link above), was absolutely unwarranted

especially people like you, @amandaabbingtonwtf

Reasons Alec Hardy is the most relatable character:

sighs a lot

always wears black

gets dizzy and nearly collapses if he stands up too fast

really angry + cries a lot

groans to communicate his feelings

fighting a losing battle with his hair

only 1 friend

gets really fussy and protective of his 1 friend. nags her about not eating enough when he’s literally dying

super dramatic. always so dramatic. goes on top of cliffs at sunset for no apparent reason than to be dramatic.

hates everything, including people, sand, and sky

seems scary and cold. actually just really wants a hug.
