@taylorswift @taylornation Dear Taylor,This past year has been like no other. A sad, beautiful and tragic one. There was not only death but also immense loneliness for many. While some suffered in critical ways, losing loved ones or their source of income, other suffered in smaller, but also significant ways. I personally had the blessing of not having this impact me emotionally as much as it could. I mean it did but its ok.
I wanted to write to you to ask you for an immense favor. My little sister, who is also a HUGE fan of yours, is graduating college this year. She has the blessing of attending Columbia University and living in beautiful New York City. As an introvert, that city provided her with a unique experience filled with endless options of entertainment. Sadly, due to covid she had to complete the last year and a half of college away from the city locked at home. My sister is very conscious of everything that is happening around the world and thus has not complained about the situation. Yet, I am aware this is not what she wanted this experience to be. It got caught short in ways that would never return to her.Â
I want her graduation to feel special and I really believe receiving a message from you would give it that touch. Thank you for being part of the beautiful things that happened in the last year. Folklore and Evermore are fantastic, emotional albums. For me, they have been an outlet to âfeel my feelingsâ. I think this album also was able to capture the attention of a new generation, the current pre-teens and teenagers who were stuck at home with their parents and stripped of much of the excitement that surround those years of their lives. Congrats on the grammy!
