Yep, you all know what I’m watching. And now, I’m just waiting for someone to write a fic for VirtueMoir (in any way) that incorporates or is based on this line. (Or if there’s one out there, lead me to it). I’d take Olicty or Lyatt on this as well. Just saying...

So Olicity. I was there at the start. I was there through that complicated middle. I am here for where they are now. And despite it all, I love them still so very, very much. I had my moments of doubt. I had my moments of breaking up with this show for a while, then coming back. But I never forgot or gave up on these two and look at them now.

I’m a shipper. I’m probably far too old to admit that, but I am. Something about Felicity caught me, and when she made Oliver smile in season 1, well, I was a goner. Yes, I had issues with how Seasons 4 and 5 went with her, but she was always and will always be my girl. Oliver, I also had issues with. Many, many issues with, but in the end, they work out. And they’re better together. They compliment each other and just make me smile. They’re great business partners, even better romantic partners. A lot of people could learn from that. Just saying...

I know a lot of people got lost in this journey, gave up on my girl, even on Oliver. And despite that period when I was all about Slade seducing Felicity to get to Oliver, I couldn’t be happier they’re together, even if it isn’t getting massive screen time (which is okay by me as long as I get to see them go home with each other). And they still make me smile whenever I see them on screen.

And I credit this fandom, the Olicity fandom (many here on Tumblr) for never giving up either. Just like with other fandoms, you made this a place for hope, and fic...and so, so much fic. I love Olicity fic, by the way. So keep doing what you’re doing ... and I’ll keep appreciating it.

But you know, I wouldn’t mind a little romantic scene or two now and then on my screen...

The first of a series of posts from me today at various points, ruminating on some things I’m ‘focusing’ on right now. (This is an effort to stoke some creative posting, get me more active again here, and provide needed stress relief from real life). Feel free to respond if you like!

First, my most current ‘focus’ which is Virtue/Moir. Like many, I was aware of them peripherally until Korea. Then I went down the rabbit hole. Big time. And while I am loving this fandom, I also just have to say that it’s given me a new appreciation for the beauty of ice dancing. Regardless of what you think about whatever the heck these two have going on (or don’t have going on) in their lives, while it’s fun to chat about, I honestly just hope they never stop skating together and making that magic through it that does completely take me to another place. Dancing has always done that for me (probably because I’m so non-hand-eye coordinated in real life) but I love escaping into the worlds they create and Virtue/Moir do that better than most. Seriously, they make me smile and enjoy just seeing pictures and videos of them-which may or may not keep me up till 2am or later on work nights.

Plus, I’ve found all of you wonderful people here who bring me up to speed on their history, what performances I should watch, and even more importantly, what I need to know about Patrick Chan, and I can’t thank you enough. You’re also wonderful people for posting GIFS and images that make me smile and realize just how adorable these two are. I’d watch them skate any day, anywhere.

And I’m American, so I’m trying not to feel guilty (I do love the ShibSibs) because I’m so much about these two crazy Canadian kids.

I don’t know what they’ll end up doing in the future, but I’m happy as long as they keep skating together and giving me something to enjoy fangirling over (I can’t wait to see what their next routines are). And VirtueMoir fans here, please keep the discussion, the conversation, the images, videos and community that celebrates these two alive. It’s the best distraction/stress relief I could have asked for at this point in life.

Okay, I’m finally on break for a few days. And while I have more than enough administrative, grading and other things to do...all I really want to do is indulge in some fangirling. Right now, I’m playing around with some ideas for VirtueMoir fic, but I would love if there is anyone who might be interested in doing some beta work for me - especially as I’m still figuring out this whole rabbit hole. I’m feeling some video making might happen as well.

I’m actually okay with T&S’s French interview today. At least we have an answer to the question and they can be whatever they want to each other in RL (won’t stop me from enjoying the beauty of their skating, partnership, etc.).

I am just happy to have an alternate reality where I can see things going in totally different ways. I like my alternate reality (makes me enjoy reality more I think)...
