- Named Oliver because his mom really wanted to name a baby girl Olive, but plans went a little south when she had a baby boy and not a baby girl, like she was planning on having. So, Oliver it was. He is also an only child, and never really wanted any brothers or sisters growing up because he knew that he would get jealous of his mother’s time since she was home so rarely. Oliver grew up with a few different of his mom’s boyfriends, but none of them stuck out. HIs father left before he was born, and has only met him a handful of times.
- Growing up, Oliver played soccer pretty competitively. He started when he was young so that his mom and grandparents were able to get him out of the house, which made it easier on them when they had things they had to get done. But in high school, he played on competitive leagues and even won states his junior year. He was a goalkeeper from freshman to sophomore year, and his last two years he was a center-back. Due to injuries, Oliver has limited use of his shoulders from dislocating each one once.
- Oliver lives in a house by himself, and is kept company by his corgi, Cookie, and his sheltie, Moose. He gets extremely embarrassed about his ‘puppy voice’ that he puts on for them and only does it when he’s alone with them, which is very often since they live alone.
- Oliver has his medical license in dermatology and practices at a clinic in Crescent Harbor because it was one of the first jobs that he applied to, and he felt like he wasn’t going to take any chances. Any job that was going to hire him would be perfect, and he’d make it work. He really loves his job and puts a lot of time and effort into making sure that he’s the perfect doctor. He chose dermatology because he felt like it was going to be the easiest, and there is a niche which means that it’s a small, more in-depth field rather than a general surgeon. He didn’t like the idea of having someone’s life in his hands.
- He’s had many opportunities at relationships, but nothing has ever felt right especially since he is so busy. Now that he has a job, obviously he can focus more on that. He’s 34 now and has only been in two serious relationships; one with a woman in college, and one with @landon-reid (which they’re trying to work on). He’s also been quite insecure of his sexuality from a young age. He wants to branch out and explore his sexuality greater, but he finds that it is harder when he is so insecure, but more mature. He doesn’t want to look like an idiot.
- Oliver’s personality is super naive and sympathetic. He always wants to make sure other people are okay before himself, which he feels like is a good thing being a doctor. But at the same time, it means he never puts himself first. It’s what keeps him humble, but dependent on other people for things he may not even realize he’s depending on them for.
- Hates cheese and pickles with a passion so bright he doesn’t even know how to explain it. All kinds of pickles, all kinds of cheese. Absolutely not.
- If you use St. Ives skincare, he just doesn’t like you.
- Pretends to be good at a lot of things, but is definitely not common-sense smart. He is only book smart, and will continue to be a lost puppy everywhere.
