While picking up extra shifts at the B&B had been a good idea in theory, the practice of it was practically dragging Auden to the grave. Every day she woke up early, got her father and sister prepped for their day, and dragged herself to clean vacant rooms that, more often than not, tourists left undesirable, and every night she was left so tired she hardly knew where she was going. This night in particular, the girl’s eyes were half-closed as she cut through the park, the sound of a guitar filling her ears and making her smile softly. However, Auden wasn’t expecting the voice, nearly jumping out of her skin. “What?” she breathed, her eyes finding Oliver and causing her shoulders to deflate. “I don’t want to offend you and say no because that would be rude. Will you settle for I didn’t mean to but I’m glad I am anyway?”
Oliver noticed the female and couldn’t help but chuckle softly as she jumped, putting up his hands in defense. “Hey, I’m sorry -- I didn’t mean to scare you,” he said with a smile. He listened to her as she talked, eyes glued to hers. “Yeah, I’ll totally settle for that,” he said with a smirk, scooting over a little to allow the woman to sit beside him. “I’m Oliver, but everyone just calls me Olly,” he added, introducing himself politely to the blonde.
