Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said,
“Modesty is a branch of faith.”
[Sahih Muslim]
Ibn Qayyim (may Allah be pleased with him) said
If you really have Tawakkul (trust in Allah), the way He deserves to be trusted, then you can move mountains.
Give your broken heart to Allah ﷻ
He ﷻ will fix it in the most beautiful of ways 🫀
Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said,
“When the son of Adam recites a verse of prostration and he prostrates, Satan withdraws and he weeps and he says:
Woe to me! The son of Adam was commanded to prostrate and he prostrated, so he will go to Paradise. I was commanded to prostrate and I refused, so I will go to Hellfire.”
[Sahih Muslim]
Messenger of Allah ﷺ said,
"Two hungry wolves sent in the midst of a flock of sheep are no more destructive to them than a man's greed for wealth and fame is to his Deen."
[Riyad as-Salihin]
Ibn Al-Qayyim said,
“From the signs of misery is that you forget your own faults and concentrate on the faults of the people.”
{مفتاح دار السعادة ١/٢٩٧}
Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله said,
“The most intelligent one is he who complains about his grief to Allah (alone).”
[al-Fawā’id]
Hasan al-Baṣrī رحمه الله said,
“A believer commits a sin and then does not stop worrying about it until he enters Jannah.”
[Az-Zuhd]
"The five corrupters of the heart— excessive socializing, wishful thinking, attachment to others besides Allah, eating to one's fill and sleep."
— Ibn Qayyim
The Prophet ﷺ said:
"When the son of Adam reads a sajdah (ie: prostration place in the Qur'an) and prostrates, al-Shaytaan retires to one side and cries saying "Woe to me, the son of Adam was commanded to prostrate and he obeyed the command, and he earned al-Jannah.
I was commanded to prostrate but l disobeyed the command and I earned al-Nar (ie: the Hellfire)."
Sahih - Collected by al Hakim, Muslim
Mu’ tamir b. Sulaymän said: My father wrote to me whilst I was in Küfah (and said):
"O my son, buy books and write down knowledge, for indeed, knowledge remains, whilst money does not."
[جامع بيان العلم وفضله ٢٩٢ ،١/٢٤٩]
Imăm Sufyn at Thawri said:
"Verily, knowledge is only studied to become mindful of Allah."
[جامع بيان العلم ٩٥٧]
Arabic is the language your Lord chose for you, to be a means by which His words are delivered to you; so do not make it a thing of the lowest priorities amongst yourselves.
Umar رضي اللّٰه عنه wrote to Abu Musa Al-Ash'ari رضي اللّٰه عنه:
"Acquire the knowledge in Sunnah and acquire the knowledge in the Arabic language."
[جامع بيان العلم وفضلِه]
Verily, We have sent it down as an Arabic Quran in order that you may understand.
[Al-Quran 12:2]
Ibn Abbas رضي الله عنه said:
"Indeed, every creature, even the fish in the sea, asks forgiveness for the one who educates people about the good (i.e. Islam)."
[كتاب العلم لأبي خيثمة ٩]
Ibn Taymiyyah رحمه الله said,
Do not disperse your heart searching for love, safety, and completeness with other than Allah.
You will not find that (with other than Allāh).
[Majmu' Fatawä 10/134]
