kiran.:
location: dining pavilion time: 10:34am status: open
Kiran had returned the night before around 1am from visiting one of his friends out in the mortal world. He hadnβt kept contact with everyone he had met along the way last year, but the few that he still talked to he appreciated all the more. However, camp was still his home base, and his bed at the Hades cabin would forever be more comfortable than the backseat of his tiny Fiat Panda.
Still wiping the sleep out of his eyes, he now sat at the Hades table at the dining pavilion. He had no idea where Mae was, probably hanging out with that ginger Apollo girl instead of with her flaky older brother, and he couldnβt blame her for that. He yawned for what seemed like the millionth time, then suddenly he dropped the spoon he was using to eat his cereal.Β βFuck, Ezekiel.β he grumbled at his cat who now sat right next to his cereal bowl, a spot that had been empty just a second before.Β βWhy dβyou always have to do that, you idiot.β He scratched the fluffy black fur behind the catβs ears. Sometimes it was weird to think this was a ghost he was petting. Not because it grossed him out - as a son of Hades there wasnβt much about ghosts that scared him - but rather because he seemed too real. One day Iβm gonna have a heart attack because you appeared randomly in front of me. Guess whoβll be the one doing the haunting then, huh?β
Olivia had slept through her alarm, and she probably still wouldβve been asleep if one of her siblings hadnβt noticed her absence and gone to investigate. And while she was glad that she was awake, the realization that sheβd already missed several hours of her day were enough to cause her to panic. Her eyes wide, her normally perfectly curled blonde hair in disarray, she dashed through the Persephone cabin, rushing to complete her morning routine as fast as she could.
Within ten minutes she had managed to shower and change into a pair of jeans, a tee shirt and some sneakers, electing to skip her normal skin and hair care routines. Hopefully no one would notice her lack of makeup, and her thrown together outfit.
It was after ten when she finally left the Persephone cabin, just barely remembering to grab her bracelet as she rushed out the door. If she hurried sheβd be able to make it to the dining pavilion before the nymphs started to put the food away. Emphasis on the word hurry.
She arrived at the dining pavilion a few minutes later, coming to a screeching halt in front of one of the tables as she paused to catch her breath before quickly going about filling her plate. Most of the good food had been picked over by the other campers but she was still able to put together a nice spread of fresh fruit and some oatmeal. And feeling slightly more relieved, she turned to head towards her table.
And thatβs when she saw him- a loud gasp escaping from her lips as she felt her tray sliding out of her hands. Kiran. While sheβd started to accept that he would never be a permanent fixture in camp half-blood, sheβd struggled to cope with his sudden reappearances. Time after time, he would show up and she would find herself head over heels for him, and then heβd leave and sheβd fall apart.
It was a terrible cycle, but she had no plans of getting off of it any time soon. Because no matter how hard she tried to move on, no matter how much she tried to forget about him- she couldnβt.
βKiran,β the words left her lips, the initial shock finally starting to wear off, only to be replaced with excitement as she found herself running to the Hades table. She didnβt slow down, she didnβt bother to talk to anyone, instead she flew towards the male, practically latching onto him. βIβve missed you,β she whispered, her eyes widening as she tightened her grip on his arm.
She had a way of seeing the beauty in others, even, and perhaps most especially, when that person couldnβt see it in themselves.
