Jett sat sprawled beside her like he owned the stretch of sand beneath them, one knee bent, arm slung easy behind her as Olivia leaned into him. The sunset washed everything gold and orange, but his attention had drifted from the horizon a while ago. It was on her. At her words, a crooked grin tugged at the corner of his mouth. He glanced out at the sea for half a second before looking back down at her, smug and warm all at once. “Nah,” he said smoothly, voice low with that easy confidence he carried everywhere. “Prettiest view I've ever seen’s sitting right here leaning against my shoulder.” He let that sit for a beat, knowing exactly what he was doing, then chuckled softly through his nose. When she mentioned the water, Jett looked toward the waves like he was considering it, then pushed himself up in one fluid motion. He dusted the sand from his hands and held one out to her. “C’mon then,” His brows lifted with playful challenge. “Try keep up, yeah?” Before she could fully take his hand, he gave her a teasing tug to pull her to her feet, then started backing toward the shoreline with that cocky grin still in place. “And if it’s cold, don’t go blamin’ me. This is your idea."
olivia's brown eyes stayed fixed on the way the golden sunlight danced across the waves. it really was the prettiest view she'd ever seen, and somehow it felt even more beautiful because she was sharing it with jett. part of her wished the moment could stretch on forever. when he told her it wasn't the prettiest view, she looked up at him, her brows knitting together slightly. she hadn't even noticed him looking at her; she'd been far too distracted by the sunset. then he told her the prettiest view was sitting right beside him. immediately, heat rushed to her cheeks. "oh, jett," she laughed softly, shaking her head as if that could somehow hide the blush spreading across her face. she had never felt like this before. she honestly didn't know how someone could be such a gentleman and still manage to make her heart race every five minutes. when she suggested getting into the water, he agreed so quickly that she barely had time to react before he was reaching for her hand and tugging her toward the shoreline with that cocky grin she was starting to become very familiar with. laughing, she hurried after him. "oh, please," she teased. once they reached the edge of the water, she slipped out of the light sundress she was wearing. the beach was practically empty at that hour, and she didn't bother folding it or setting it aside neatly. she was too busy enjoying herself. the cool water lapped at her feet, sending a shiver through her body, but instead of retreating she kicked a splash directly toward jett. "is it cold?" she giggled, already splashing him again before he could answer. "because i'm pretty sure you're about to tell me it's not, just so you don't look weak." her grin widened as she backed farther into the water. "come on, tough guy."
