Olivia took the coffee with a grateful smile and mumbled a thank you. She laughed at Dante's reaction " Of course. Allergic? I think that would be really sad for him. He loves food. "
Olivia chuckled softly, she wasn't laughing at him but his choice of words were quite amusing "I can relate. It's hard to human, right?" She shook her head " I spend all of my day with animals and then I go home to my dog. Do I look like someone who knows how to human?"
“LA, I guess that’s South.” Olivia nodded “I wish I had visited more places other than the most popular place to visit...” the girl chuckled “Was someone rude to you? Poor thing. I’m sorry. I assure you you’ll find plenty of nice people around.”
“I think it’s time you and I arranged a heart to heart.” Zac paused. “I mean… what are you wearing?” Zac’s brows pulled together, head tilt slightly to the side. He didn’t know whether to judge or not as he looked at the other.
Olivia frowned before looking down at her dark blue vet scrub shirt with small dog paws on it. “Oh- this. This is my work attire. At least the top half.” she chuckled, “I forgot to take it off when I was changing. I guess.”
“I’m Olivia, it’s nice to meet you.” the girl replied “I used to be anxious in crowds before. My trick was to think that everyone was as insecure as me, which was probably true. Worked out fine for me. You could try.”
“California? I’ve been there once or twice. Quite an awesome place.” Olivia smiled softly “I grew up here in New York. I hope you learn to love it like I did. I’m Olivia, by the way. I can show you around sometime. I’m sure you just need to see the cool places.”
Olivia nodded, even though it would mean putting her pride to the side, it was worth it for Oliver’s well-being “Yeah, I know. But sometimes people don’t like to admit they aren’t capable enough to do their job. I mean, I’m sure I would be able to deal with it eventually, but, as you said, Oliver’s just too close to me.” the girl rambled almost like she needed to convince herself.
Olivia smiled grateful for the kind words. She couldn’t lie and say she wasn’t anxious about the situation. “I hope so...” she gave Oliver, who was almost sleeping in her arms, a light squeeze “I probably just spoil him too much. But I can’t help it.”
Olivia bit down on her lip once the realised that the other wasn’t talking to her, but the girl decided not to make a big deal out of it. “Oh, that will make it even more speacial. I hope you have fun.”
“They have.” Olivia nodded with a chuckle, New York weather might not be te best but she was used to it. “Where are you from? Is it warmer there?”
"You run into something? I'm sorry but that's the oldest excuse in the book." Olivia rolled her eyes slightly "Let me look at it..." Olivia went to grab some tissue so she could maybe stop the bleeding.
"If the dog was misbehaving when alone, it might be separation anxiety. But this little angel is not so he might be feeling the need to defend his territory in a more intense way when I'm there or even I'm the one to blame and have been overwatching him eat." Olivia trailed off "I might need to do some testing and observation with him to be sure."
"What can I say, is too social for his own good." Olivia shook her head amused by the interaction between the two, before looking back at Alexei. "That would be nice, I never say no to caffeine."
"Yeah, I guess when it's my own dog o don't think that way." Olivia couldn't help but smile at the line of thoughts "I'd say his anxious about being alone. But Oliver is almost never alone for more than a couple of hours. I usually leave him with family or friends."
“That would be something to consider. But maybe it would be worth it.” Olivia chuckled at the other pup before nodding “Yeah. That would be nice.” she placed Oliver on the floor, who immediately started wagging his tail and sniffing Dante.
“I guess.” Olivia shrugged although a small smile appeared on her lips “I just want him to be happy and this makes me think he’s lonely. Should I get him a brother maybe?”
