Hello the void of tumbler! Im Ollie im a lovejoy fan this is my blog deicated the band lovejoy and its members becasue I really like thier music and this my place to geek out about their music. Also for anyone wondering why Im a fan of the band dispite the alleagations againest the lead singer the short version is Im optimist who always sees the best in people (even to a fault) and I think Wilbur is a flawed person but I take him at his word that he's trying to improve. Also the abuse seems more like comunication issues tbh. I have more thoughts that i'll probally put in a post sometime. I say as if those toxic people will pay attention to that.

Fatal and scoundrels are my favorite songs of all time. The emotions of burnout and failure, flaws, and high expectations I see in those songs pulse through my soul as the days count down to another year of school and burnout.

Also hugging my big Ikea shark and listening to those songs made me calm down from a school related anxiety spiral.

I'm pretty sure in one simple trick Wilbur is singing about heaven, Christianity and stuff as a metaphor for fame, fortune, and fanbases but I mainly read and relate to it in terms of school and the pressure to get good grades and the importance society puts on success which is somewhat touched on too an extent just in a different context on the albums (intended) text.

When the world is scary music can be calming. In Foxholes the line "I wonder if it's fun to be emotionally bankrupt" stands out in a song about anxiety and stagefright. The line asks if it's fun to be a bad person and not care about the consequences of your actions, it can also be taken tho I'm stretching the meaning a bit, to not have to constantly worry about every detail and action like someone with an anxiety disorder might deal with lining up with the songs overall themes of anxiety. You could also read the line as an intrusive thought asking what would happen if those thoughts would win, if it would be fun even tho those thoughts can never be fun because those thoughts are dark worst case scenarios that arent a proper reflection of ones character just a smoke n mirrors. The fact I hate those thoughts are the biggest sign they aren't me. In scum the most memorable part of the song goes "I'm scum I'm waste I'm what you want" a person wanting the singer to be a.flawed morally, and a bad person or b.feel worthless and bad potentially being used by the person wanting them to be bad to abuse/malinulate them c.just not have control, not be able to fight back. I opened Spotify to use music to calm myself and those 2 songs were the first ones to play and those lyrics hit extra hard in the moment.

Anyway after writing this I'm calm again one more song or two and a snack then I'm gonna go back to playing deltarune chapter 3.

Hoping when the EP comes out that he reacts to it hearing a semi-professional review the music was so nice.

Side note currently OST is 71 on AOTY but if it wasn't for small amount of review bombing It probally be 75-80 which to me seems like an accurate score. id personally put it at 80ish if I were to review it.

alphabet (WASTED SUMMER) thoughts Not a full on analysis tho I should do that sometime but I think wasted summer is about wasting a relationship, wasting the time spent on it knowing its gonna end horribly. I always thought the title of alphabet was in refence to the tech company but apparently its referring to the song structure according to Wilbur. I can still get something out of that analysis even if its not intentional but I found that noteful.

I need to watch this movie sometime I only know it from the lovejoy song named after it and properly diving into the film might grant a better analysis of the song cause I feel like people overlook this reference a lot.

Wilbur soot is like a green goblin mask jingling (musical) keys in my direction. like every once and a while I get a notification from a lovejoy discord and just jingling the keys going you want it right you want silly boy you want to music by the controversial former Minecraft youtuber cause i feel bad/anxious about liking lovejoy. I feel like such a parasocial parasite I think way too much about the contravesy lost adrift in a parasocial daydream waiting for it to end lmao. anyway the stream from two days ago was so good. the hyperfixation will continue.
