âItâs tall and handsome,â she said with absolute elation as soon as he had caught her attention. âI had no idea Mallory bread pudding was an option, I would like to have that, my good sir. Iâve been a very obedient patient.â
She grinned softly before she shrugged. âRecovering from a concussion. But Iâve dealt with those before on the quidditch field. Nasty buggers those Bludgers. There are others worse off. Iâm hoping to get out soon to free up bed space. Maybe volunteer and help a bit.â
Oliver broke out in laughter at her reaction to his presence, one hand over his stomach as the sound resonated through the room. It had been a couple of days since he'd laughed like that, and he made absolutely no effort to contain it. "Tall and handsome, well that's a nickname I do not mind having. The name is Oliver Mallory, though."
He made a mental note to make his new friend some of the famed pudding the next time they met. "Evee, right?" He walked in the room, sitting on the available chair not far from her bed. "Quidditch? I used to be a keeper. Haven't been on a broom in a while." He nodded his head at her words. "Glad you're feeling alright. I've been doing that - handing out coffee, blankets, snacks. Mostly to the families in the waiting room." He didn't feel like laughing anymore. "Your cousin, the singer - how is she?"
