HOUSE OF THE DRAGON Season 2 Episode 7 - The Red Sowing
HOUSE OF THE DRAGON 2.07 "The Red Sowing"
Something funny about Alicent raising misogynists and then being confused when they are…misogynistic. Definition of “boy mum”, where she always has to be the exception.
father, son, holy spirit.
Aegon joked about burning the Riverlands and people found it funny. He stopped a council meeting to make his master of coin give a pony ride to that annoying ass little boy and it was seen as cute. He made stupid and uninformed decisions when on the throne and people think he’s a good ruler because he’s thinking of the small folk. He killed a dozen innocent rat catchers but he’s acting out of anger and it’s justified because his son was killed by one of them.
Meanwhile young Rhaenyra being disagreeable during a marriage tour makes her a spoiled irresponsible brat, her not wanting to be a mother at 14 and go through what her mother did makes her a pick me, her expecting to be the queen after her father, the ruler of a hereditary monarchy promised her the throne makes her an idiot who didn’t earn her inheritance.
For EVERY single thing she does, she’s villainized and seen as unworthy for the throne. If she was the one talking about burning lord Tully and the Riverlands, we wouldn’t be hearing the end of how mad and unfit the tyrannical she is. But who gaf if an idiot with a cock says it. No wonder they’ve been writing her the way they do.
And I don’t even want to hear it from you idiots saying “Rhaenyra fans want her to be innocent!!” When the entire fucking planet has been anticipating her cruelty since the premiere. But I also acknowledge that you freaks will tear her apart the minute she does anything controversial meanwhile THE MALE CHARACTERS DO THE ABSOLUTE SAME THING OR WORSE.
You people are stupid and misogynistic even if you don't think you are.
Cole looking so horrified and heartbroken by what he just witnessed Aemond nearly do will never stop making me laugh. Sir, you practically raised those boys and taught them viciousness, cruelty, and dishonorable tactics in your quest to get back at Rhaenyra. You have continuously inserted yourself in the private affairs of the royal family and pitted your charges against their nephews without stopping to think about the consequences. You prepared them to wage war against their blood, spread misery, sow deceit, and commit kinslaying.
Don't look so surprised now that the fruits of your labor are finally yielding the shit you fucking planted all because a teenage girl wouldn't run away to be poor with you, you fucking twat.
When the pile of clothes on the chair in the corner starts looking suspiciously person-shaped in the dark:
Something about Alicent turning her back on Rhaenyra and having the power to walk away, despite knowing she fucked up. It just rubs me the wrong way. We will get more Alicent angst next episode I’m sure but I hated that it wasn’t Rhaenyra who turned her back. Rhae finally got the knowledge she needed, that her father didn’t abandon her, that she did nothing wrong to justify this usurpation. We should have seen her turn away and her accept that war is undeniable over this treason.
But yet again, Rhaenyra is left looking almost weak compared to the other characters. I want to see her anger. Alicent saying she can’t control whatever Aemond is, I wanted to see a visceral reaction to his name from Rhaenyra, at the monster who murdered her son.
Luke almost feels forgotten and Alicent walking out of that confrontation, it ending when she decides, just didn’t give me the feeling that I believe the scene was supposed to give?
Vhagar babe…
Laena Velaryon to Aemond is such a downgrade. I knew her dementia was setting in.
Convinced the old girl wanted to die so chose the most incompetent man child.
Why is House of the Dragon acting like it was the death of Jaehaerys that started the war? Did Luke just not count? Have we moved on?
[About Lucerys] “With his death the war of ravens came to an end and the war of fire and blood began”
It just sounds like they are trying to put this whole war on Rhaenyra. Why is Daemon facing all these repercussions but Aemond is just fucking around (literally)?
Book or show, the Greens started it.
The Green Council aka what have we gotten ourselves into S2E3 | The Burning Mill
I had expectations for Episode 3 and somehow HOTD managed to destroy all of them.
Rhaenyra cosplaying and fish food Targaryen dick shots was not on my bingo card.
Still can’t believe that the Greens usurped the throne and then ate the Queen’s son alive and were shocked that they faced repercussions.
We see them all laughing, getting drunk, shagging and just being jolly, juxtaposed with a dishevelled and grieving Rhaenyra who has tirelessly been searching for her baby for days.
Don’t get me started on Alicent being an idiot and trying to write a letter
It just shows how incompetent the Greens are. They think they can get away with anything. Everything is fun and games until it arrives at their front door.
There’s something interesting about how TG allow Helaena to grieve her child, and her “descent into madness” is totally understandable and she’s a walking tragedy.
But Rhaenyra? Her child is eaten alive and she’s not even allowed a mourning period because she is busy fighting for the survival of her entire family from usurpers. Rhaenyra who loses how many children? Yet if she makes a single misstep, she’s demonised and deserves death.
Why is only one mother allowed to grieve? Do you lack the humanity to see how painful this war must be for Rhaenyra as well?
“[Rhaenyra] spends a lot of time looking at the history of her family this season, as though she’s looking for a clue to her own future. She’s aligned with the old Targaryen gods.” — Emma D'Arcy
