Hiveworks

Thinking on time this week, 10 years ago I was in High School, and it wasn’t until 6-7 years ago that Hiveworks really started in earnest. The worlds changed so much, though folks are still reading comics, we’re getting into stores around the world, ads are still adding up, and we’re slowly moving into other media and infrastructure projects. We went from $100/month to $100’s of thousands, and I’m happy, though there’s still a very long road ahead. We’re just getting started. Here’s a snapshot of our first hub and collection. We should be releasing a new version of HiveworksComics.com sometime before the end of the year.

Hi guys, as an update on Olympus Overdrive the archive had to get taken down due to changes in Flash/HTML, it’s still in the universe of things I’m thinking on doing more stuff with, though the archive will be back up at some point.

A word from me!

Hi guys! This is Oskar, the artist for this comic. I wanted to just leave a word here for you guys, mostly an ENORMOUS thank you to all of you. Olympus Overdrive got a hell of a lot more attention than I ever thought it would and for that I am extremely grateful and flattered! I’m so glad to have had the nicest audience for this comic, I couldn’t have asked for any better, and I say this from the bottom of my heart! You guys have been nothing but constructive, patient and supportive with me and for that you have my infinite thanks!

As for Olympus Overdrive, I'm not going to say that it’s over because with the way that you guys have supported me, I’d be lying if I said I didn’t want to do something in return, I’m not really sure what will happen with OO, might be a complete overhaul, or it might be the story I finally revisit to give a good ol’ time try at making video games. At any rate I just want you all to know that I really do love all of you and all the beautiful fanart and cosplay and support you all showed for this comic, it is invaluable to me and as I write this I can’t help but feel sad!!!!!!!! DFLDKLJFSkgdffnmgm but anyways, I’m hoping for a better future for OO, I will not let it become abandoned, it taught me so much about comics, and writing (or rather the fact that I am godawful at it.) My main problem with it is I don’t think OO was ever meant to fit a comic format, and therefore I will now search for other methods to deliver the story! There’s still so much I want you guys to find out about it and the characters, and see your reactions to it! 

For those of you that don’t know for the past year, I’ve been developing a recently launched comic called Sleepless Domain, along with the amazing Mary Cagle, Jojo and Isabelle from Namesake. These people have been my mentors and have taught me so much about comics, I’m excited to deliver the knowledge I’ve gathered over the past few years with this project!

At any rate it’s been a long ride, and a fun and sometimes stressful one, but this isn’t by any means a good-bye! Thank you all, I know I’ve been quiet on this blog a lot, but most of the time I just don’t know what words to use to express my feelings towards you guys, and you’ve been nothing but patient and understanding, so I often feel like there’s nothing I could actually say with words that could reward that.

Thank you all, seriously! I love you all!!

Heya folks, this is an update that Olympus Overdrive is on long term hiatus. We attempted doing both this and Sleepless Domain and decided it wouldn't work out time wise. 

Olympus Overdrive wasn't intended to be a full comic project, and was mainly for practice on art/writing/editing and getting the technical details sorted for a larger un-decided future project. 

OO has a very vague middle-end and a lot of things that won’t work much farther into the plot without significant rework. It’s best to stop it here then to continue and go into unwritten areas. 

So thank you for reading, if we decide to revisit it in the future it won’t be for awhile. 

*Edit* This is not April fools, April fools is over already in half the world.

Greeting everyone!

Sorry that things have been pretty quiet over here. Lots has happened and we’ve been hard at work solidifying everything in preparation for our launch this spring!

With that in mind, we have a few important announcements!

The title of our project is now Sleepless Domain. We think this name suits the concept a bit better, for reasons you’ll see soon enough! ;)

We’ve also made some slight character redesigns, which we’ll be sharing with you in the months to come!

Most importantly, the comic itself is now slated for launch of April 1 of this year. That gives up just a bit under three months, but we’re already hard at work on the early pages and concepts for later on!

We’re really excited to share everything we’ve been working on with you guys, and thank you for sticking around in the meantime. It’s gonna be an exciting year for fans of magical girls!

not at all i mean momentarily its obviously on hiatus, ive talked about this on my streams but im working on paid stuff for literally like 5 different clients and they’re all really big projects, i love OO to death cause its my baby but ive had to put it on the backburner because a guys gotta eat yanno

Status Update!

Hey guys! I’ve got a few messages asking how I’ve been doing and first of all thank you so much for being concerned for me ahh it’s super nice of you ;_;! I’m doing better my foot still hurts a lot but it’s been diminishing slowly, I’ve decided I’m gonna take the rest of this week to just rest up and try to feel better, and I’ll become more active at the beginning of next week! I’m sorry for any inconvenience or anything, I know the shipping of orders has slowed down but this is (obviously) because of my broken toe, I’m gonna speed that up though!
