@omccutcheon-blog
My series is an aesthetic evaluation and is a form of art photography. This series of images looks at fruit in cross section. Each image shows the outer skin and the inner flesh. My vision for this project is to show how the outer layers should not lead to a judgement about what is beneath the surface. The concept of “don’t judge a book by its cover.” The same principles can and should be applied to the human race. We all look different externally but it is the inner being that truly reflects who we are as a person. The heart and soul of the human race. The goodness inside. Black, white, Hispanic, Asian, beautiful, scarred, pierced, tattooed, gay or straight and so on. When fully mature, there is a ripeness or perhaps a sweetness that develops in fruit, much like the wisdom we gain over the years as human beings. I also included a picture of all the fruit combined, which together looks colorful and amazing, individually unique but aesthetically harmonious together. Pictures were cropped and edited in Photoshop and Nik.
