I've been racking my brain for the last few weeks about what to say about current events. First and foremost, Free Palestine. Free DR Congo. Free Sudan.

I know that I am an AU blog, but time and time again I've seen the messed up shit in the world and have tried to share as much information as I can. And I will continue to do that. I, of course, am still posting my expected content, but please don't turn away from what is happening.

Today in Occupied Minneapolis, it was -22F/-30C with the windchill. In spite of that, we had a thaw.

How?

Minnesotans showed up in the tens of thousands to protest the occupation. In that bitter cold, they marched in the streets of downtown Minneapolis or, rather, they didn't march. The plan was to march but there were too many people out there. All people could do was stand and shout because there were too many protestors to move. Downtown was shut down.

Over 100 members of the clergy were arrested after effectively shutting down Minneapolis-St Paul airport by sitting in and praying in the lanes leading up to the arrivals/departures area at Terminal 1. As they knelt praying, they were arrested by Bloomington police, zip tied, and loaded onto school buses. They prayed for the children stolen by ICE. Many were arrested while actively saying the Lord's Prayer.

Roughly 300 businesses closed to form an economic blackout and send a message right to the government's pocketbooks. We will not tolerate the Occupation.

Most importantly to me, after helping to lead those tens of thousands in chants at the big protest, my wife came home cold, but safe and whole. She came home proud of our city, proud of our state and committed to an end to the occupation. Today she is safe, though we know that every day is a new and dangerous day.

This is our home and today the occupation feels a little less hopeless as we know that tens of thousands of people stand against the Regime.

every day I learn bot comments on ao3 are stooping lower and lower

anyway if you get a comment like this, chances are that they are bot and their goal is to do whatever it takes to get you to delete your work, most certainly (from what I’ve heard) it’s because they want to “safely” steal your work, use it to train their ai without you being able to rightfully claim ownership of your work since “there’s no proof that the work was stolen/was posted elsewhere first by you” because the original source has already been deleted.

THEY ARE ALL BOTS. at first it was “ao3 is deleting fics and your entire account will be affected unless you delete the fics yourself” then it was “this work contains contents that are illegal and they have already reported you and your fic to the police” (yes, that’s how desperate these bots are), and now it’s this.

report their comments to ao3 for spam—in this case, specifically, I think you may be able to report them for harassment too—and don’t pay attention to them, most importantly don’t delete your works, don’t feel discouraged by their comments. remember that they are bots and they mass comment something like this on people’s works at random to get people to delete their works. (or even if they’re not bot, they are still pathetic bullies who don’t deserve your time or attention.)

Well, that was a show.

I'm glad to see Omegaverse becoming mainstream, but this was poorly executed. It's not the OG Omegaverse, so that was confusing to see an introduction of an Enigma. They even added mpreg.

Though the last episode literally had the whole thing fall apart. I know that it's pretty true to the source material, but god damn. They just dropped the ball so hard. It was so slow to start and by the time it got interesting, it was done.

I hope the next Omegaverse live-action is better and more daring.

You've heard of scent drunkenness but have you considered scent hangovers ?

Scent drunk is typically described as a hazy-sleepy state (typically from an omega or pup) after being overwhelmed by the scents around them. Sometimes it's written as a good thing, a haze that people are encouraged to go into when stressed, overstimulated, scared, etc. other times it's discouraged, something that happens when you haven't been exposed to enough scents throughout life, or possibly have something wrong with your scent glands.

Therefore, I raise you scent hangovers. Like after you come out of this drunken fog, you experience hangover-like symptoms. Headaches, nausea/vomiting, dehydration, irritability, feverish... Maybe some heat/rut symptoms if you're of age ? Idk I'm just spit balling fr

I really like this idea but with it sticking with olfactory dissonance. For some you can’t stop smelling everyything like the dust bunnies around and it brings a big headache and sometimes even nausea. For some you can’t smell literally anything because the scent is just lingering in your brain and it makes you think others are around you when they’re not (for better or for worse). And like for some it leaves this muscle fatigue/relaxation so you’re hella clumsy, or just unable to move
