All of my RDR2 x ASOIAF art! Do you ever wonder (obvi not actual game Sean) but if Sean really loved Lenny, that he’d try and repress it and try to drink/sleep with girls (maybe Karen, but not to put her down as an object but more so as a stand in, love Karen) to try and act like he doesn’t feel that way for Lenny? Mainly cause 1. He has bad self image, so he’d think Lenny deserves better than himself, or 2. Because of his Irish/catholic background where he’d struggle with seeing himself as a heathen? (If that makes sense, been on my mind for a while and wanted to see if anyone shared the same sentiment)

Oh yes, when it comes to Macsummers I've discussed it all and that includes Sean's catholic guilt if Macsummers ever were to be canon in any way. Talking about the catholic guilt of a murdering thief is very interesting because it's definitely possible that someone of his occupation would find their guilt comes from their sexuality instead of the people they've murdered (though Sean does say killing innocents/who he decides is innocent gives him a nasty feeling inside). It might not make sense, but it's very possible.

So yeah, I think if Macsummers were to happen, they both would go through stages of repressing it, dealing with guilt and shame and embarrassment. I think it would be similar to Charthur or any other mlm ship in the fandom, they would have a huge hurdle of shame and guilt to get over.

Additionally, Sean's guilt might not even come from being catholic itself, but from his father. He has such an impact on Sean's life, even in his death, that I think Sean would worry, and does worry, about what his da would think of his life and decisions. In canon, I bet he represses and ignores this as best he can, but if he ever were to be confronted with his sexuality in this Macsummers universe, I doubt he could keep the shame and guilt of what his father might say repressed. It would be on his mind more often than not.

This is the exactly same with Lenny in my opinion, repressed shame and worry of what his dead family, dead father, would think of his life and decisions that would absolutely explode out of him if Macsummers ever were to happen. Our boys have one big hurdle (or hundreds of small one) to get over before they can get to the fluff, but we believe in them.

normalise not treating your headcanons as canon when someone wants to discuss the actual canon media and lore. why? everyones headcanons are different. they can’t be counted on as fact. but everyone (hopefully) has the same canon.

i hate talking to someone about real things a character said and did, then they start using something i’ve never even heard of to defend a character, or explain something about them, then i find out they made it up. look, i adore headcanons, but that’s what they are by definition. something made up by the fans. not canon.

this is also my issue with mischaracterisation. yes, let everyone have fun. but when i want to talk about the canon media and lore, and you arrive with your mischaracterised version and start pretending it’s lore accurate and real, that’s when i stop having fun. so no, everyone’s not having fun.
