y’all can say that gray’s redesign may not have his iconic hat but it has the same colours as his hat

BUT DO YOU EVEN REMEMBER HOW HIS HAT IN HIS PORTRAIT AND HIS HAT IN PROMOTIONAL ART WAS DIFFERENT????

Like, his hat in the promotional art(both BTN and FoMT) is blue with a red brim and yellow front with black letters. It looks as if he is wearing a blue cravat under his jumpsuit(or in the FoMT art, a blue tie and shirt maybe), and his shoes are brown.

But in his sprite, his hat is blue with the yellow front intact, but the lettering is brown(which while we can let slide since the graphic capabilities of the GBA, Gray’s marriage sprite is wearing a black tuxedo which is clearly black), and no red brim. He is wearing a yellow shirt with a brown/black tie, and his shoes are blue.

Which is the real Gray?

Just something I thought about...

In Back to Nature for Pete, the bachelorette he marries ends up being the little girl he once knew in town. For Claire, the bachelor she ends up marrying is the same person who saved her from drowning.

In Friends of Mineral Town, we’re greeted with the same general idea from Back to Nature and we’re given this sepia filtered cutscene.

The girl’s sprite is pretty generic and because of the filter, it honestly could be anyone.

In the remake, it seems we’re getting the same intro as Friends of Mineral Town. On the official website, we have a screenshot of it from Claire’s view.

The little boy’s hair is much darker than the previous. Just due to character appearances, it looks like it could only be Doctor or Cliff, seeing as Gray and Rick have lighter hair and Kai has darker skin.

It makes me wonder what the little girl’s model is going to look like and if it will single out any potential characters.

BUT I kind of thought of something.

In Friends of Mineral Town, it doesn’t really say who the little girl was in the end. It’s most likely who you married like in Back to Nature, but there’s no cutscene for it and your spouse never mentions it. It’s kind of just... there in the prologue and never mentioned again.

I’m hoping they touch on this in the remake, but go off I guess.

My point is, what if the little boy and girl aren’t even any of the original bachelors/bachelorettes?

What if the little boy/girl is who this is:

It’s only one of them will be present in the game depending on who you decide to play as, similarly to how Jamie and Inari are different between your protagonist, thus explaining why there is only one child in the cutscene(as we see it now).
