Day One

SO MANY DIFFERENT EMOTIONS. To be completely honest, my anxiety was so bad that on the days leading up to my departure, I couldn’t eat without fear of throwing up. My stomach continued to churn all the way to Amsterdam. However, once I got off my first flight and found myself in a sea of DIS students just as lost as me, I felt instantly better. It’s been uphill from there - I’ve connected with loads of interesting people, decorated my room in a way that I satisfies me, journeyed to a nearby department store (boy was THAT overwhelming and expensive), shared two meals with my flatmates, hit up a nearby Danish bar, roamed the streets of Copenhagen, and successfully navigated our clan back home without consulting a map. 

The city itself is gorgeous. The architecture is unique. Every place is chic and decorated with blankets, pillows, and candles. The cobblestone streets shine and sound so satisfying underfoot. There is a balance between the old and the modern. It’s not too busy but you still feel a sense of life. 

Tomorrow orientation festivities begin. These four months are going to FLY by.
