How to help children learn?
As a parent you want your children not only to perform well in school, but to develop a passion for learning. This means you have to understand what makes them learn and also to discover the best ways to motivate them. Those children who love to learn at an early age will be more successful in school and also in social life.
In our article we’ve gathered some ideas, tips on how to help your children to enjoy learning.
Proactively find situations where you can talk about various themes with your children, ask their opinion about appropriate subjects. Older ones will enjoy a talk about arts, books they read, in case of smaller ones, ask them what they played with their fellow kids.
Expose your kids to a variety of experiences - go to exhibitions, play board games, listen to different styles of music. Travel with them, if you have the opportunity, show them different cultures, tranditions, jobs. Â
When it comes the homework, children are usually tired and don’t have much passion for learning. For you, as you are their most important teacher, we have some tips: Most of the kids like to learn when they have to do something with their hands too. Figure out situations when it isn’t just talk, but interaction as well. Keep trying to make the study material fun and meaningful for them. Ask questions to check their understanding about the topics you spoke. Ask your kids to ask questions from you about the material taught. In case your kid does not understand everything, try to act it out, or demonstrate the situation, if possible.
Get involved in your child’ s school: attend parent-teacher meetings, keep in touch with your child’s teacher, find out how is she/he doing and always help them in preparing for tests.
