i want to hear your thoughts on All Too Well, both the ten minute version and the film. ❤️
it feels like a very different version, it’s Taylor more mature and looking past it, like you can tell her voice is more mature but also her thoughts and emotions and she has moved on, but she reflects back on it. It’s Taylor knowing the relationship was not good and knowing that it was real to her, and knowing it wasn’t real to him.
It’s very interesting how it feels now, like it’s someone looking back and saying: it was okay to feel awful. Your heartbreak was justified because it was wrong. And she knows now how love should feel like and she looks at it and goes: yeah, love was not supposed to hurt.
Now that she’s reached the age that her partner was at that time, she knows how immature she was, but that’s NOT wrong. She was just acting according to her age, she was absolutely in love and she knows that she was fooled.
Like she is reflecting past on that heartbreak and that HURTS.
And the 10 minute version just gives insight on the other songs, 22 has a very different meaning. And she was just a young girl in love who was giving her everything to someone who was a nightmare. The ten minute version was just her way of pouring her heart out, it was just a vomit of emotions and it was just painful. It’s so personal, like this is her story, and yet I’m pouring my heart.
She made a very personal experience feel so universal, and I love how the songs have different meanings because they are what she wanted them to be and now with the whole story it just gives different insight on it.
I really loved it, and the short film was so painful too because it was her memories, and if you see it, she is showing it like it was: someone who was very naive as in love who was fooled by a man who can’t love.
I am amazed by her talent and how she keeps on giving. She made a masterpiece out of an already incredible album.
