Doing some loose, almost automatic type watercolour in my recycled scrap paper sketchbook (when I say scrap, don't be fooled, it's high quality watercolour scrap, but scrap nonetheless). I found the first line from Dante's Inferno in a book I borrowed from the library, and this is where it led me. "In the middle of the journey of our life I came by myself in a dark wood where the straight way was lost." (at Crumlin Road)

David Malin's book, The Invisible Universe, has been one of the biggest influences on my artwork. I found randomly in the @rmituniversity in 2006 and never looked back.

Watching Stagazing Live on ABC iView, listening to Brian Cox rattle off camera specs of how people are photographing space. Here's how I image my constellations. Charbonnel ball hard ground on degreased copper sheeting, smoked with wax tapers to blacken it, scratched into with a fine point (essentially a metal stick with a sharp end). Cross hatching for the star points, lines out etched at different rates in a ferric chloride bath. Charbonnel 55985 black ink wiped back with tarlatan and pages from a phone book, printed at high pressure through an etching press on dampened BFK Rives. The Hydra, seven headed beast of the sky. A little more Corita Kent for your Friday night. @cheekyhomewares and I went along to the Summer of Love, a retrospective exhibition of Corita Kent's artwork yesterday and it was amazing. It's on until the 26th or so of March, so please get along to see it if you're in Melbourne. (at The Ian Potter Museum of Art)

Picked up some of my etchings that have been out and about on show for the past year or two. Tremendous thanks to @thevillagefoodstore in Heathmont for taking such good care of them and @whoiswelcome for organising everything in the first place. In the interest of not needing to get the glass replaced to take them to Ireland with me, I'm selling the remaining framed works off at the unframed prices. I have Crux (the southern cross), Boötes (the herdsman), Sagittarius (the archer), Aquila (the eagle), Orion (the hunter), Canis Minor (the small dog), Pavo (the peacock) and Hydra (the ...hydra) left. Nine most likes from 2016. Explored the New Horizons mission through art, bought another printing press, made art to help refugees.
