Hi everybody! As you may have noticed, things went a bit quiet over here after our launch announcement. Don't worry, we remain as committed as ever to our project, and this is exactly why we went MIA for a bit! Long story short, when we first contacted the lovely folks at HEI to get their permission, they told us that there was already a person who had reached out to them with the same intent as us. They helped us get in touch and, after a long email thread and nice chats, we're thrilled to announce that Alexa (@kovboika) is joining the crew! As a trained translator and subtitler, Alexa has precisely the experience we so desperately needed to "upgrade" our work. We've also received quite a few comments in here and on Reddit of some kind people wanting to help us out, and to that, we'd like to say: YES. As we're in the early days, we still want to organise the house a little bit (get a consensus on subtitle guidelines, optimise work flow, etc.) but as soon as we're done, we're gonna alert you guys so that we can grow our little group. We can already tell you that we will definitely be on the look out for:

Hiiii On Cinema Heads! @latinasfordalecooper and I (@wcfieldsimpersonator) have been working on making subtitles and transcripts for On Cinema. We both think that, while the automatic subtitles are serviceable (and more accurate to the world of On Cinema and how Tim would run the website), there should also be an option to have subtitles that are more accurate. I think it mainly comes down to accessibility. Everyone should have access to the same movie information, if they want to make informed decisions about which movies they're going to see. We also want to make it easier for people to make subtitles in other languages, so that people who don't speak english can watch the show!

The plan right now is to make subtitles and transcripts for season 16 and then, when the season ends, working backwards on all of the HEI-exclusive stuff. Perhaps, if we run out of things on HEI Network, we can even work on the videos before 2021. We both have full-time jobs, so they will not come out right after the episode is posted, but we have a process that should make things happen relatively quick.

The subtitles will be downloadable from a google drive and the transcripts will be hosted on this page. Feel free to download the subtitles and use them for translations - if you do so, contact us so we can add them to our roster! Let us know if you see any errors or have any problems accessing them.
