All the discourse I'm seeing fringes of(mostly on FB bc the algorithm throws random mha stuff at me even though I hardly use FB for anything anymore) showing that supposedly Bakudekus are crashing out from the supposed "canon confirmation" of izu ocha, or how "izuku is confirmed straight" etc
When like... were we not already over this crashing out thing a year ago, when the manga came out? And even then it was much more over 431 than Izuku comforting ochako? (Genuinely, im pretty sure we all agree that its a good moment for the two of them, right? Cus most of us highly respect ochako and her friendship with Izuku, and are side-shioping Togachako as doomed yuri to go with our doomed yaoi, right??)
And dont the majority of us already know that bakudeku was never explicitly going to happen via a SHONEN anime with a publisher who has censored such shit in the past(I watched a thing dissecting the case of SKET Dance and Shonen Jump and how the creator was forced to write away from their initial desire for a mlm romance and how they kinda sorta wiggled around it much later on, anyway look that up, it was a fascinating video! Sorry I dont recall who's video essay it was, on yt) -- point being, shonen jump was not about to pull a blatant MLM ending with one of their biggest properties, and I think all of us queer folk pretty much understood that bc WE ARE SO FUCKING USED TO IT.

It was not the time for romance. Your point is moot because that WASNT a romantic encounter, holy crap.
As for the "Izuku is confirmed straight" (truly a take i DID see!)-- Izuku is confirmed nothing. Because he did not have a romantic conclusion. Even Hori, the one man who could say one way or the other who Izuku ends up with, told us to leave it to our imaginations. Man doesnt want anything to do with this bum ass argument and I cant blame him lmao.
Bkdks might be reading into subtext a whole lot, but so are all the shippers of Izu Ocha. We are ALL just smashing our barbies together, be for fucking real, have more self awareness(and media literacy) please

Of course im sure there are outliers and bkdks who would act a fool but i am saying overall, unless this is truly their first ever shipping war or experience with Japanese shone media, and expectations were too damn high, the vision too naive, I dont see bkdks truly acting out so much. Maybe my view is limited though since I stay in queer spaces where we have been reading the Manga anyway and we had the year to sit with this finale, I dont go on Twitter or even FB much bc I despise those spaces. But concluding thought is that I dont know where this discourse is coming from, but it might be a me problem, lmao.
