BOOK - BIG TREE by Brian Selznick
•
Two little seeds embark on a great adventure to find a perfect place to plant themselves and grow into big, strong platanes.
The idea comes from Spielberg, with the desire to tell nature through nature.
•
Disappointment for Selznick's new novel. I am usually fascinated by his stories, but here I found the pace too slow, and almost too mysterious. It is sometimes confusing. At the very end, the author writes notes to explain his story in more detail. That is the problem: he feels obliged to explain his story.
•
Finally, I liked the book for its endnotes, but not so much for the story itself. The illustrations, on the other hand, are still as beautiful.
