As conscious thought slowly returned to them, Seru became progressively more and more aware of just how much pain they were in- each joint and muscle in their body screaming in protest as they slowly climbed to their feet, hacking up more salt water than was certainly healthy onto the sand below.
Unfamiliar sand. The wrong colour they noted, looking up after a few startled moments.
They stood there for a very long time, staring incredulously at the sky- its shade too oh so wrong- unable to process a thing.
Where was the canopy?
Where were the rocky spires piercing the heavens like thousands of giant teeth?
No⦠No⦠Just endless rolling fields and endless open sky.
They dug their claws into the sand below to try to stabilize themselves, suddenly feeling quite dizzy as memories of the storm slowly flicked back in. Body still almost feeling like it was being thrown about by choppy and violent waves. The sound of wood snapping and frightened shouts ringing in their ears anew.
The ship⦠It should be nearby! The crew! Anything! But it seemed all that surrounded Seru was a broken crate and a few planks strewn about.
āDhÄgghun grant me strengthā¦!ā They croaked, a small sob breaking from their maw āWhere⦠Where is everyone?ā
Itād have almost likely been less distressing if theyād found themselves surrounded by corpses, but there werenāt even a sign anyone else had ever been there.
A strange bird- white and grey with yellow beak- almost seemed to cackle at the lizard bullsās distress, causing them to instinctively stand up on their two back legs in an attempt to seem much much larger.
Hirke Harr would have agreed that this was much too exposed, and Seru knew they were in no state to put up a fight if one of this landās unknown predators came a-prowling.
It took them only a moment to decide⦠First theyād find shelter, then theyād patch themselves up to the best of their ability, and lastly theyād do whatever it takes to either find the others from the ship⦠Or simply figure our where on Nirn they were.
⦠Perhaps an offering to Moraulhāhe was in order.
(That was pretty rushed lmao, buuuut I wanted to have something down :P)
I love roleplays of all kinds, serious or silly- do be warned Seru will be going through major culture shock for a while here (Why Is Everyone Bipedal)
Random notes about Seru and a small Lizard Bull loredump that will be relevant somehow!
Seru, and all Lizard Bulls for that matter, would use 'They/Them' in Cyrod, as their only third person pronoun in their language basically just means 'That Person'
Seru is a Necromancer, but more in the sense of say Zerith-var than Mannimarco- itās a very different and respected art in Pyandonea š
Their name is pronounced like Ale-Zay-Ru (Nineteen)
For fairly obvious reasons *cough* no lore *cough* at all this blog is based entirely on lore I've created for the Lizard Bulls and their history for an Elder Scrolls OC project of mine.
They know next to nothing about Tamriel besides that the Maormer whomst they sheltered hailed from there once upon a time... And of course that the only others from the continent that they ever met were QUITE hostile.
Lizard Bulls live in an āearlyā democracy. Theyād be bemused and equally disturbed by tamriel still playing Emperor and King.
They have VERY opposite views on the Daedric Princes. All Iāll say is roles have swapped a bit. Perhaps Iāll reveal in time, perhaps not š
Lizard bulls are ālizardsā in the sense of the synapsid phase between reptiles and mammals. They are covered in a layer of proto-feather āfuzzā, in some places, and otherwise scales and leather. And quadrepeds in the same way gorillas are technically (knuckle walkers). They are also the size of Giant Short Faced Bears- hence why they easily threw a few historic pirates around so easily in the only lore we have of them.
Iāve only got one super rushed sketch of a generic lizard bull, sooo hereās this while I work on Seruās ref:
No more lore here since I want to have SOME stuff revealed in time hehe.
Daedric Prince Names:
Azura- Azhur
Boethiah- Bhotakha
Clavicus Vile- Kavikhus
Hermaeus Mora- Moraulhāhe
Hircine- Hirke Harr
Ithelia- āA Deeply Encoded Animal Terrorā wow how nice and friendly donāt you love it when you canāt remember what something is but itās so programmed in your very blood to be terrified of this vague idea of whateverās missing :)
Jyggalag- Jhaggal
Malacath- Malhahaka
Mehrunes Dagon- DhÄgghun
Mephala- Meffale
Meridia- Merithkya
Molag Bal- Mulhagāaru
Namira- Nahmaur
Nocturnal- Nokthra
Peryite- Piryth
Sanguine- Sanāwuth
Sheogorath- Shoggal
Vaermina- VhƦmin
But yeah Lizard Bulls have basically no canon lore except Strong and Quadruped lmaooo:
Did you know that the majority of tamriel only taxes the poor and middle class, and still maintains monarchies? I shudder at the thought, and you should too!
hey there buddy chum pal friend buddy pal chum bud friend fella bruther amigo pal buddy friend chummy chum chum pal i don't mean to be rude my friend pal home slice bread slice dawg but i gotta warn ya if u take one more diddly darn step right there im going to have to diddly darn snap ur neck and wowza wouldn't that be a crummy juncture, huh? do yuo want that? do wish upon yourself to come into physical experience with a crummy juncture? because friend buddy chum friend chum pally pal chum friend if you keep this up well gosh diddly darn i just might have to get not so friendly with u my friendly friend friend pal friend buddy chum pally friend chum buddyā¦
I will inform you, biped, that my neck is thicker than that of tamrielās āBearsā- unless you are one of DhÄgghunās Titans you wonāt go very far. Besides, if I wear attacked, I could easier fit two of your skulls within one palm. You are small and weak, and should have learned this last time you attacked our people unprovoked.
Self defense aside, I canāt begin to fathom what caused such a reaction? Then again, our Maormer- ⦠Friends, do they have a better word in this tongue⦠Often speak of Tamriel as an incredibly hateful place. What can we expect of a land that still plays king?
Visiting the ruins of a āgateā outside of this imperial city. What beautiful construction⦠Interesting to see how their techniques have changed over time.
Met the Messenger, Iām shocked to see him here. But it seems he travels all across Nirn. He promised to me heāll keep an eye out for those affected by the storm. This⦠Is good. Those like him are better at such things than those like us.
After considerable⦠Persuasion? (If you could call it that, with both a language barrier and, more frightfully, Seru suspecting the armoured bipeds at the gates initially thinking they were something like their long earred pack animals, with their bags and all- they couldnāt help but wonder if the guardsād have attacked them if theyād lost their supplies at sea) Seru found themselves within the gates of anvil, glancing around itās cobbled streets as they tried to figure out how theyād even locate a healer in such a place.
Itād have been much easier if any of these⦠(Mer, it was that the maormer called the bipeds of tamriel, yes?) Spoke their tongue, or maormer, or any of the common daedric tongues for that matter⦠But it seemed they had to resign to wandering the city and hoping for the best.
((ooc: They were probably assumed to be a realllly weird looking khajiit or argonian by the guard haha <\3- annnyways in person because why not hehe :P))
Rampage wandered around anvil as well, cleaning out people's pockets as casually as if she was just taking a daily stroll. Perhaps "clearing out" wouldn't be the right word, though, as it implies grabbing everything- they, however, were pretty selective when it came to what they wanted to grab. They only took shiny things and couldn't care less about their actual value. It was a matter of adding nice things to their personal collection, not just theft for the sake of gold, after all!
But as her hand slipped into a particular person's bag, they couldn't help but loose their balance, landing on their face in surprise, then rushing to sit up and do a double take. They let out a confused squeak at the sight. What in oblivion-
They weren't particularly surprised by Seru's appearance. There were so many different folk on nirn and in her home plane of oblivion that she had learned to not be surprised by whatever forms they chose to take- More so, what bothered them was their appearance here. Whatever- Whoever this was, they clearly didn't belong.
Seru turned around, four eyes squinting in confusion as they gazed down at the khajiit they assumed they somehow knocked over without realizing.
Considerable embarrassment in their voice, they repeated the same phrase three times (in case one language luckily clicked), first in Lizard Bull, then in Maormeri, and finally in Daedric āAh! Iām so sorry! Are you okay? Iām quite overwhelmed right now, I didnāt mean to hurt you! I should be paying better attentionā¦ā
They offered Rampage a webbed hand to help them up, suddenly a bit self conscious about how battered they currently looked- they had no doubt they either looked very unfriendly, or very sad. One or the other, pick or choose!
Rampage accepted their help, tipping their hat in gratitude once they got up. His eyes lit up when Seru spoke daedric, clearly ecstatic to meet someone else who was fluent in it.
"This one shouldn't worry, it wasn't their fault, just khajiit being clumsy!" She explained, dusting off her clothes. "Was surprised by new friend's appearance! Never seen them around here before!"
Seru let out a happy hiss, instant relief seeping into their tone as- finally- someone could understand a word they said! Joyous day! They were starting to fear theyād have to go bother the local dead to speak for them!
āYou speak the tongue of the venerated ones, āKhajiitā! Wonderful! I was beginning to fear they werenāt known in these lands!ā The Lizard Bull sighed, trying to mimic the āsmilesā theyād seen Maormer make before when they were happy, but with giant fangs the gesture mightāve seemed a tad bit on the intimidating side āBut thatās good to hear! Iād hat to have injured the very first person Iāve spoken with here! And⦠I suppose that makes sense. This Tamriel⦠Is quite odd! Are all your peoples bipedal? Would that not make everyone⦠Flimsy? Prone to falling over?ā
They paused, wincing āAh, wait, that might sound rude. My apologies. What I mean to say is Iāve been equally surprised! Iām⦠From Pyandonea? Iām not sure if people here wouldāve heard of my homeland, but it is quite nice. The soil is⦠Less hard and crunchy, thank Hirke Harr, and rich in thick plant life! And the water ways are full of beautiful corals and colourful creatures⦠Though I know many of which are deadly to the maormer, even if weāve helped them adapt best we can with our magicks- as was our first deal! Buuut I donāt want to bore you will history, so again my apologies, I didnāt mean to begin to ramble!ā
He listened, watching Seru's expressions closely, smiling as well when she finally understood that was what they were doing. Even before that, he didn't seem to be afraid, andd now they burst out laughing.
"This one thinks it is incredibly funny that her new friend would say this, as she has heard this word-for-word from her alfiq and senche friends!" They explained when they could finally speak. "He agrees, this does make us quite prone to falling over! But he supposes she can just as easily get up, so it's not a problem."
She thought about his words for a while, tapping her chin. "This one hasn't ever heard of Pia-. . .Pyandonea, don't think so? But she is probably the worst person to ask about this, because she doesn't know much things herself! But this one likes it by the description. . . She likes relaxing in water, as long as it's not too cold or hot. She couldn't imagine even more plants, though, that sounds scary! The forests in here are already so full of them!"
āI think Iād like to meet these āalfiqā and āsencheā, itād be wonderful to meet another species with a similar experience to ours- Iād assume? And you make a good point there, Iād fear for the safety of the being who couldnāt get up after a scrapeā¦ā That reminded them of their missing shipmate, much to their sadness⦠But they couldnāt help any of them- if they were alive- if they were still hurt and confused.
āI think itās supposed to be⦠Southwest of Tamriel? The water is much warmer than it is here, but certainly not burning? Well, luckily not all of it is so verdant! Thereās the salt marshes which is mostly mud and grasses, the flint cliffs, and of course the beaches?ā Seru sounded quite proud of their home, if not a bit lonesome⦠Who knew a simply fishing trip would end in them being so far from their continent?
"This one sounds like they miss their home a lot." he pointed out, licking his lips. "Have they been away from it for a while? Khajiit thinks it's nice to visit home once in a while. It is hard to tell when one gets homesick because it is not like other sicknesses. . . The symptoms are different for everyone!"
āIndeedā¦ā Seru lamented, looking towards the cobbles below with a sigh āAnd no, I have not. Iāve only been in Tamriel for but a day, and not by any choice of my own. I was out fishing, with people from my town when we were caught in a storm. Iāve no clue where they could be, and I fear for their safety more than for my own.ā
They paused, before explaining softly āThey are simple fisherfolk, and I am the mage who was supposed to help their catches be more efficient than they couldāve been on their own. I can defend myself if Iām attacked, but them? I doubt it.ā
It brings me great comfort- even if it seems most consider him little more than a daemon, which vexes and pains me greatly in equal measure- to see that someone in these lands see the Liberator for who he is.
So⦠It is only fair to ask, is there any way I can come into contact with your Mythic Dawn. I assure you I mean only well- it would be, dare I say, quite horrendous of me to have ill intent towards the followers of any of my patron princes. Especially with no cause for such!
May DhÄgghunās fire burn bright.

The unfavourable reputation our Lord retains under the yoke of imperial influence is most lamentable. Instructing the people on the true nature of Change- more often than not- proves itself a delicate undertaking, as meticulously falsified annals have left them fearing the very Destruction necessary to bring about their liberation. Yet in this very darkness, hope burns ever brightest. The present condition may appear bleak at a glance, but a juncture is bound to emerge, mine is the obligation to ensure fate falls favourably in those days. The chance appearance of the like-minded is a merry occassion, undoubtedly a sign of shifting fortune.
Your word has reached us, Friend to His Fires. To be able to hear overseas perspectives on Lord Dagon should be nothing short of a most precious opportunity. Indeed, there is much insight to be gained from one another, as I am sure, you must have questions too. Know Gaia Alata to welcome all His Faithful and this an invitation to her Gardens; it would be my pleasure to have you hosted here sometime.
I suppose this is to be expected from a region that still plays at Emperors and Kings no? Itās easier to cause the populace to share in your fears than for a leader with such utter control acknowledge their faults, lest they lose even a crumb of it! Hope is a precious thing, without it and the Liberator I doubt my people would have succeeded as they had generations ago⦠So, of course, I hope this too is the case.
I thank you from the bottom of my heart, this opportunity will be beyond wonderful, after all knowledge and word is plenty more powerful than most physical weapons as they say- or perhaps they do not, I suppose sayings would differ between continents? Hmā¦
It is a shame I cannot share our most sacred secret with you, as I truly feel itād be of significant use to you. But I am no priest, and certainly not the venerable DhÄgghun himself⦠So it is not my choice to make. If only I had a way to send a message back home⦠Ah. Oh well. I cannot expect everything to go perfectly here.
