Spencer and Monroe both turned to look at Kelli, a pair of blue and a pair of green eyes each scanning over her with concern. She seemed fine, and she kept insisting as such, so neither of the had anything to worry about. Spencer, however, was smirking amusedly as the redhead started foul-mouthing the agentââCal, apparently.Â
"You really shouldnât underestimate us, basââChrist,â Monroe hissed, his eyes going wide as he jumped out of the way of the blast, landing in a crouched position on all fours. When he glanced over at Spencer, he noticed how trained his gaze was on Kelli, his head tilting this way and back as if he was listening for something.Â
And he was. His vampire senses were picking up on the subtle changes, the slur in her voice, and the difference in her heartbeat. That dart that Cal had shot at her must have been some kind of tranquilizer. Which meant that they needed to get her out of here and away from the hot piece of ass agent. Spencerâs gaze shifted up, catching Monroeâs. âGet Kelli out of here,â he spoke in a soft, barely audible whisper, knowing that the werewolf would be able to hear him perfectly. âIâll hold him off, and Iâll find you. No arguments.âÂ
The curly-haired brunet nodded in response, his gaze flicking over towards Cal and then back at Kelli. With no warning, the wolf charged towards the redhead, grabbing her and lifting her up bridal style before racing towards the window. His body curled around Kelli protectively as he jumped through the glass, breaking the window and falling to the ground with the shards. He landed on his feet with Kelli in his arms, his eyes now gold, canines lengthened into fangs, and nails into claws. He didnât even wait before he was racing off away from the building with the pyromancer.Â
Spencer watched Monroe and Kelli dive out the window, shaking his head a bit. However, he had a job to do. He eyed up Cal with a crooked smirk and a tilt of his head, blue eyes glittering playfully. Itâd been a while since he had a fight. And damn, was he going to enjoy it. âCome at me, big bad wolf.â
