Well its been awhile

Well its been months since Cassidy or I have posted anything. A lot has happened in the past few months I believe the last time we posted anything was while i was at ITX. I am currently almost done with my deployment i believe i have 50 some more days over seas. But I'm currently in Korea for a few more days but I've spent most of my time in Okinawa. I went home in October before I came out to Japan for 12 days. My Dad and my twin brother flew out to cali to help me pack my stuff up and move all of it back to Michigan and we drove my truck across country back to the mitten, needless to say i never want to drive through Texas again. But anyways while i was home i spent time with my family and Cassidy of course and i was glad i got to be there for her birthday this year. But like always my time at home went by fast and i was soon back in cali getting ready to leave for Japan, i got to Japan after a long two days of travel around the middle of November. I took awhile to get used to the 14 hour time difference and not having a working phone didn't help but FaceTime and iMessage helped out. Soon after that it was the holidays and being away from home really stressed me out because I had never been so far away for the holidays and that really bummed me out and on new years day i broke my h and and that didn't make anything better. I can't believe that was almost 3 months ago now time does seem to be going by fast but not fast enough. But i am glad that I am getting to see the world thats one of the reason i joined the Marine Corps and besides being away from home i am enjoying myself and i am glad I'm getting this experience. Like i said earlier I'm currently in South Korea for about another week and out of all the places I've been so far i have enjoyed Korea the most. I was lucky enough to get to do a tour of the DMZ which was really cool because a lot of people don't get to see that. But ill soon be headed back to Japan in a few days and ill be back there for a week or so before i go to the Philippines for a few weeks and shortly after that ill be headed back to the states.

As for Cassidy and I. I believe we both have learned a lot from me being gone for so long and not being able to talk all the time. But i think this has made us stronger and in the long run has better strengthened our relationship. but i can not wait to come home and see her I miss her like crazy and she seems to be on my mind 24/7 and for the most part thats a good thing but it just makes me miss her more. But only a few more months till i get to see her again.

I jut would like to say sorry to everyone that reads our blog for taking so long for not posting anything and I hope to start posting a little bit more in the next few months. And I'm sure Cassidy will post something soon. Thank you for all the new followers and i hope everyone is doing well!

And we're back

Hey guys sorry for being all sorts of missing from our blog lately. Just to catch up, once again me going out to see Nathaniel didn't work out again which realllllllly sucks but there's always another time. Nathaniel will be coming home around mid October for about a week. We are just starting to get some details about his deployment but ill let him talk about that more. All I know is that this month needs to go by fast.

And I'm back!

We'll I got back on Thursday night of last week. After another great trip to wonderful 29 palms, I'm glad to be back on Pendleton. My unit got a 72 so yesterday was my first day back to work after a long weekend needless to say it was nice working at night and it not being 102 degrees out still. It was also nice coming back and being the only one in my room. My roommate and one of my very good buddies finally got married and moved out not gunna lie though it's kinda weird after two years not having him around we both have gone through a lot together, I'll save that for another time. But anyways Cassidy and I pretty much finalized her trip for coming out her in October along with my brother and a buddy from back home. They plan on flying out here staying a few days then we will drive my truck back which is a nice 2300 mile drive. But with all 4 of us driving it shouldn't be to bad. The next month and a half is going to be pretty busy for the both of us with Cassidy starting school and dance again and me preparing to deploy with all my classes I have to take and packing I have to do. But I'm more then happy to stay busy because it will make the days go by faster. As of now we have 58 more days till she comes out here and I'm already so excited to show her everything. Hi guys I can't sleep so I figured I could post something since I haven't been posting as much as I would like to be but like Nathaniel said I've been very busy. I feel like that's becoming a very common excuse for me but I've developed a habit of keeping my self busy and occupied while Nathaniel's away. This has it's ups and it's down to it, see when I need to have something to keep me busy or keep my mind off things it's wonderful my life is so jam packed I have very little time to feel sad about not having him here which sounds a lot more harsh in writing as it did in my head but it works for me and many other people. Downside, when Nathaniel's crazy weird schedule doesn't match up with my very busy one that leaves us with very little time to talk out of the very little time we already have or on some days even none. At least for trainings like this. That's my little rant for tonight now for an update. Nathaniel has 5 more days in 29 palms and then is back in Pendleton which means cell service all day and FaceTime! I start school here in a few weeks and before we know it Nathaniel will be home for three weeks on leave. We still haven't figured everything out yet but were going to try to by next weekend (hopefully) Hope you all are well -Cassidy Ps. Almost outta here

Well I have 11 more days left here in wonderful 29 palms, well 10 if you don't count the day we leave which I do. But I haven't posted anything in a few weeks so I'm just gunna give a quick update because I should really be sleeping. But Cassidy and I have been both really busy I'm work and then sleeping and waking up right before work and Cassidy is working two jobs along with dance classes. We try to find sometime to talk after I get off work and before I go to work it has seemed to be work alright but not as well as I would hope. But I'm almost done and I'll be headed back to Pendleton to start pre deployment classes. My leave blocks are still kind of up in the air but I'm pretty sure for now it will be in October and I'll get to be home for Cassidy's birthday which would be nice. We are trying to plan what day she is going to come out here along with my brother and my buddy from back home. They plan on flying out here and then drive back using my truck. But that's all we know of as for now nothing is set in stone yet. I just can't wait to get out of this place anyone who has been here understands. To make things better I got a ticket the first day I was here along with 4 other guys I work with because we weren't wearing seatbelt's in a 15 passenger van and we only drove like 25 yards from the gym to the pool. And 29 palms has a base order saying that it's an automatic one months suspension from driving on any DoD base and I have to take a driving class along with 4 points, so I can't drive on base when I get back. What the driving class is going to do for me I have no idea I don't see why I need to take it for not wearing a seatbelt. But that's that and only 10 more days. I hope everyone is doing well and thanks for all the new followers it means a lot to Cassidy and I knowing we have more support and other people are going through the same thing.

Hey guys. I had like 3/4 of a post typed out yesterday and my computer decided to restart. I've been home for a week now and i've been pretty busy. I spent the first two days home at the beach and catching up with some friends and since then i've been working everyday. Somehow I was talked into helping a family friend at their restaurant so i've been helping down there in the evenings while working my regular job at our towns Harbor and today Nathaniel and I both have the day off. Which is really nice because in the past week or so we haven't been talking as much as we would both like.

Our plans for this fall are still up in the air with things changing every week or so but hey that's the military for you. One of our good friends and her boyfriend and I were planing on coming out to visit Nathaniel in California in late October for my birthday and Nathaniel's ball but with an upcoming deployment, leave blocks are during the time the ball usually falls on so we might have to save that for another year but we will figure it all out when Nathaniel gets back from Twentynine palms.

Good morning everyone! I got home last night after a long day of flights, delays and layovers but I'm finally home after a long three weeks. I have a chiropractor appointment today and some plans to catch up with some friends so that should be nice. I should probably also remind my boss that I'm home so I can't start working again. Nathaniel is doing okay still very busy and HOT but is still doing a great job at keeping me informed and contacting me whenever he can. He was actually moved somewhere with better service so when he's not at work we can text and FaceTime all we want not that we have had time but this week we are defiantly going to start doing that. I'm going to start doing little posts like this everyday or every other day to keep Nathaniel updated with what I'm doing because we can't always cover everything. Hopefully we will be buying plane tickets for this fall or maybe even sooner sometime next week :) -Cassidy

Fun in the sun

Well I've been out here for a week now in lovely 29 palms for the second time. It has been quite a shit show since I got here. I work night crew and I'm supposed to sleep during the day and with it being 100-115 out during the middle of the day and living in tin cans needless to say I'm sure you can imagine it was hot. The first 4 days I was here i only got around 9 hour of sleep and my command didn't know what to do because none of the AC units were working so they moved us to main side to a warehouse with AC so we can be able to sleep. It sucks not being able to talk to Cassidy as much as I would like to be talking, but now we can talk a little so that's nice. I know she knows I'm trying my best to be able to talk but with my job and no cell service it's kinda hard. And that sucks because I don't want her to think I'm not trying even you know I know she doesn't think that. But I'm glad we have been able to talk and I won't be here much longer so that's good and then we can go back to our normal ways. Well that's all I have for now. Well Nathaniel has been gone for a couple days and I'm headed home in 4. He still hasn't gotten his other phone working yet but a friend was letting him borrow his last night so we got to text for awhile. He went into town today to go to the pool and store and we could talk so that was nice but I haven't heard from him since so he's either phone less or busy I'm thinking both. Even with problems with phones and a bad first couple days out there Nathaniel has been doing a great job at keeping in contact with me I just want to thank you for that babe I'll be posting a lot when I get home for Nathaniel to read when he gets back to keep him updated with I've been up to. I could ramble on about a few other things but I'm just too tired right now, for another time. Goodnight! -Cassidy

Another Month

Well I am currently on a bus right now headed to lovely 29 palms California where I'll be for the next 32 days. Cassidy still has one more week left in Alabama and the. She will be heading home. The next month shouldn't be a problem communication wise because once we are in the swing of things will be good and shouldn't have a problem. Although I already messed things up and should have gotten my AT&T phone working. The reason being that AT&T is like the only good service out there. But anyways I probably won't be able to post anything for the next month or so. I'm hopping Cassidy will post stuff so I can read what she says along with all of you. But I'm going to keep this short and I'm sure I'll have lots to talk about in a month. -Nathaniel

One step at a time

Well I finally got some free time after a long week. I've been busy with classes and rehearsals or finding time to talk to Nathaniel which has working out better than I thought. The first couple days were hard but I've gotten a schedule down and we have been able to FaceTime the past couple days. Like Nathaniel said the Fourth of July was hard not being home with family or even with each other. It was our first time for both of us not being in Harrisville with our families for this time of year. As much as it did suck I'm glad we went through it together all we can hope for is that we can spend it together there next year with everything I have two more weeks here and Nathaniel leaves in a week for training so we have to figure out another schedule for that too but I know we will. By the time this is all done we will be down to double digits days till we see each other next! Thanks to all our new followers! We're almost getting to two hundred!

There is a first time for everything...

Well yesterday was the first forth of July that I wasn't home for in 20 years. For the past 20 years I have gone up north with my family to my cottage. The city it is just so happens to be where Cassidy lives so it always worked out perfect because I got to see her and participate in all the activities that the city puts on. Its a small city only about 500 people actually live there year round but during the summer time thousands of people come to visit, turning our small city into a big one. As Cassidy would say polluting her city with "flat landers" (anyone who is not from there) but it just so happens she is dating a "flat lander." But anyways the city always goes all out for the 4th there is a small art fair that goes on, a parade for all the kids (I always was in it as a little kid) and they always put on the best firework show around people come from miles away to see the fireworks. I have all these great memories as a little kid and even as I got older of just being up there with family and friends. This year being the first was really hard and I was in a pretty depressed mood all of yesterday. Not being able to see Cassidy made it even harder and this is also her first year away from home for the forth as well so we both were pretty bummed out.

I remember this one year probably about 4 or 5 years ago Cassidy and I and a bunch of our friends were watching the fireworks and the show was over and we were walking back to the cam grounds were some of our families were staying, this was right around the time where we started liking each other or knew we were interested in on another. Bu anyway my buddies and my twin were ahead of us and you had to walk down dark path to get in and my twin scared the crap out of Cassidy and of cores she over reacted and jumped into my arms.

I just can not wait to not have to be away from her during holidays. Especially the ones we have been sharing together for years now its just not the same without her. But I know there will be plenty more to come and I am looking forward to them.

Nothing we can't handle

Well like I've always said coming back from leave sucks because you get a taste of what you actually are looking forward to, it's bitter sweet. But anyways Cassidy will be leaving early this morning for a few weeks. I'm so proud of her and what she is doing with her life and I support her in every way I can. I'm sure she is worried about being able to talk and I am as well but I know we will figure something out we always have and once we do I know it will be fine. Even you know I will be leaving for 29 palms in a few weeks it won't be as bad because I will be more experienced then I was the last time. And as a side it's nice I won't have to spend as much time out there as I did last year. But anyways as much as the next few weeks might suck and be difficult for us to talk to each other I know everything will work out just fine. I am confident enough and know our relationship is strong enough for us to be able to pretty much get through anything and as much as we both don't like change we make it work. -Nathaniel Thank you for all the new followers!

In the Swing of Things (Momentarily)

Both Nathaniel and I have had a lot of schedule changes due to school for me and work for him and coming home in between all of that. This week is the first in a while we are back to a regular schedule of talking, which will be all thrown out of whack again next week because I will be going out of town for three weeks and will be pretty busy the whole time, so we will both try to post a little bit more this week while we can at least.

About half way through me being away, Nathaniel will be leaving for a training in 29 Palms which for anyone who knows isn't the best time ever. So he will be pretty busy with work. Last year while he was there we couldn't talk as much as we liked so he wrote to me every day in a notebook and then sent it to me once he got back. So this year I'm going to use our blog when I get back home to talk to him and keep him updated on what I've been up to while I wait in between phone calls.

Gone Again

Well as of yesterday Nathaniel is back in California after being home for a week. His plan was to surprise me but told me he was coming home about a week and a half before he left. We are horrible at trying to keep things from each other. We had a wonderful week together but ill let him recap that he seems to be better at it than I am but even if it was a couple of days it was perfect and so much fun.

The next time we plan on seeing each other is in November for the ball which will be the first time I will visit him out there. Every time we plan a trip out there something always comes up that prevents it but this time it seems as everything is going to work out we already have flights picked out and everything my excitement is out of this world.

Later this year Nathaniel will be deploying for the first time, possibly to Japan. Does anyone have some suggestions or advice on how tough communication will be due to the time difference or what you did to call, text, Skype or Facetime. I know once we get everything figured out and get a schedule while he is there it won't be bad but I worry way too much about the unknown and I have no idea what to expect but Nathaniel and I have complete faith that we will get through it with no problems and the first time will be the hardest.

If anyone had any advice or experiences they would like to share comment on this or message us we would both love to hear from you guys!

I am so proud of you Cassidy Jane. I am so glad I got to come home and see you preform this past weekend, it has been long overdo. I am so proud that you got excepted to go this summer to advance yourself even more. I have never been so proud and I know you are going to kick ass.

Chapter 11

Well like Cassidy said I came up the day after Christmas. I could not wait to see her. It's really hard being away from her and especially hard during the holiday season. Christmas is all about spending time with family and friends and I'm glad I got the leave block where it allowed me to come home for Christmas and New Years. Cassidy already told you what I got her so I want repeat what she has already said. But Cassidy got me the Starbucks gift card because I love my coffee. She also got me a new watch a really nice one. I haven't taken it off since then. I'm really hard to buy gifts for because I never want anything because I like giving more then receiving gifts so it's pretty difficult to buy for me, but she knew exactly what to get. Also While I was up there one of Cassidy's Aunt and Uncle were there that I had never met before and they treated me like I was apart of the family it was nice. We went farther up north then we were already to go to this ski resort to go tubbing down the hills, it was a great time and that's also were I profile picture was taken. The only down side to it was that it was one of the coldest winter I have ever felt. Now being from Michigan the cold never really bothered me because I was used to it. But after living in Cali for almost two years it was a shocker to my body. This was probably the best New Years I have ever had. We had a New Years party over at my house and we had a bunch of friends over and it was a great time I wouldn't have wanted it any other way and it was amazing because I got to kiss the love of my life at midnight. I only had a few days left after New Years and like always I didn't want to go back to reality and have to leave her but like all great things it had to come to an end and I was on my way back home. It seems like every time I come home it get harder and harder to leave and harder to fight the tears back when I leave. What mad it worse was the night I had to come back home I found out that one of my good friends and roommates for a few months had pasted away on New Years. I just wanted to be with her at that moment but I couldn't. But I'm going to leave this on a happy note I made plans for me to come home a few weeks back to come see her and I was trying to keep it a surprise from her and I was going to show up and surprise her at her dance recital but I have in and told her. It's pretty hard to keep a surprise from someone that I have been tell everything to for the past 5 years. So I'll be coming home in 7 days. -Nathaniel
